Takeover delayed at the last minute over issue of providing finance to employees for the purchase of cycles or cyclist safety equipment in excess of £1000.

You couldn't make it up!

$ to £ exchange rate not helping here. Any confirmation of a deal and could see a 5% - 10% reduction in the share price based on the takeout of $7.40

Blackrock was probably in the the know about this deal. Short position of 2.5% of all shares in late May this year, and 2 months later, position closed. Amazing how these companies are well ahead of the pack.

amazing just how many big short positions are being disclosed right now .... not surprising the share price could not make any traction ... still I am happy to be out and with a profit!!!

There is also opportunity cost. If there is no bidding war then this is going nowhere, and could drop if the bid fails. However cash in hand gives scope for another purchase.

Yeah had something similar with Shire and held until completed on that one, which did get nervous at times - might be leaning towards the easy money route this time with expectations of no rival bidder and currency swings potential impact also.

Half decent gain at circa 5.80 so trying not to be greedy!

Kron76.

It’s normal for the share to trade a bit below the bidder’s price.

IF the market thinks a good chance of another (higher) bidder then the share will trade above the price of the current bid.

So the risk with holding on now is if bid doesn’t go through. Then selling just below that price is no big deal!

The risk the other way is selling ahead of a bidding war and missing out on significant further gains.

But so far it looks like this bid will be it.

I suspect there's going to be a fair amount of 'take your money and run' going on today!

Was going to myself but haven't yet because its below the deal price - flipping a coin.....

Also sold out.

FWIW, iWeb say they haven't received the money yet. I will prod them in a week if it doesn't show up.

yes I have received my divi (HL) and I agree with the last post... so I have sold out to the market about 10 mins ago. not taking the risk that the deal falls apart. Good luck all

Wasn't a divi meant to be paid on Friday? Haven't seen mine in iWeb yet.

Buyout price 583p, current selling price about 580.4p. As much currency fluctuations as anything from now. News feed suggests little likelihood of a competing offer so $7.40 it is and I'm quite happy with that.

Thought we might have got a bit more, but happy to take a decent profit. Well back to the drawing board to look for the next M&A target.

My Hargreaves Lansdown screens were all over the place on virtually all stocks until recently. I still don't know if current prices are true or if it has just settled down into another meaningless level.

What happened this morning? Looks like trading didn’t start until around 9:45 then some weird stuff happened... I thought they’d been bought out. Sadly not!
