amazing just how many big short positions are being disclosed right now .... not surprising the share price could not make any traction ... still I am happy to be out and with a profit!!!

Kron76.

It’s normal for the share to trade a bit below the bidder’s price.

IF the market thinks a good chance of another (higher) bidder then the share will trade above the price of the current bid.

So the risk with holding on now is if bid doesn’t go through. Then selling just below that price is no big deal!

The risk the other way is selling ahead of a bidding war and missing out on significant further gains.

But so far it looks like this bid will be it.

I suspect there's going to be a fair amount of 'take your money and run' going on today!

Was going to myself but haven't yet because its below the deal price - flipping a coin.....

Wasn't a divi meant to be paid on Friday? Haven't seen mine in iWeb yet.

Buyout price 583p, current selling price about 580.4p. As much currency fluctuations as anything from now. News feed suggests little likelihood of a competing offer so $7.40 it is and I'm quite happy with that.

I’m talking about Sophos, if you chart the daily movements, the majority, nor all, daily swings start either down and then recovery, or rise and then fall back. I’m a long term holder and have averaged down on occasions such as today, but also day trade, when there is less violent swings in share price. For example if Monday starts with a significant price fall, down 2% or 3%, I’ll buy and sell once I’ve made a 3% - 5% profit, and vice versa. It doesn’t happen every day and I lose out approximately 3 days out if 10, but again the other 7 days. You don’t get the daily price swings Sophos has been experiencing with other shares in the FTSE 350, but please do your own research. There is money to be made in this one.

I cannot find any negative news at all - Even on the sector.
So IMO perhaps these drops are the best opportunity to top up or buy first time SOPH shares.
The more we move forward in time, the more cyber-crime will increase exponentially.
As financial transactions and competition increase, data and money theft will increase as this is now becoming more and more a "lucrative business" for all type of criminals.
The share price is now where it was roughly 18 months ago.
So my plan is to see it hit £5 before taking initial profit then leave the rest to run as cyber-protection demand will increase impacting on SOPH numbers. This is also a good provision in case, just in case, SOPH is taken over which could be a logical outcome as most UK technology companies were snapped up (from ARM, Autonomy, Logica to London Bridge etc.).
This is my 2019 plan for SOPH !

Despite recent reports of multiple cyber attacks by both Russians and Chinese on many companies worldwide, the Soph share price is dropping unless its software is not so robust to tackle and block such specific attacks or not already adopted by those companies.
