I believe that the drilling program at South Disouq has changed and will NOT include a test of deeper oil horizons in the next round of development wells. I think we can only expect to see two gas development wells on the SD1X structure and two exploration wells on the nearby gas structures. Tthe priority will be to establish Egyptian gas production and cash flow before going after the riskier but potentially much more impactful oil targets. This is fine with me. The oil wells are more expensive and riskier. They should be drilled at an optimal location for oil after we have established significant gas reserves and production. Probably 2019 (my best guess). Don't get all worked up about it. We have plenty of low risk development and exploration prospects for 2018 on our plate.

The Placing was at STIFEL's mates'rates. They're doing it all over the place and I think it stinks. Just look at HUR, which has still not recovered because of the way that raising was structured (with convertibles and consequent delta hedging "to remove equity risk"). I don't blame PW at all for this overhang except inasmuch as he has been conned into using Stifel. There must be a better broker out there!

At least the raising here was modest and safe hands took a goodly percentage. The only reason there is still an overhang is that this stock remains under many radars and volume is concomitantly low. Still, without doing any sums, I would think this factor is close to being played out.

Painful share price performance on continued good news whatever the reason. Just have to keep believing this will rerate at some stage and the 50s will be behind us for good as we welcome the 70s and beyond.

The 2 SD dev wells are set to kick off around the end of the year. It's my understanding* that the second dev well will feature a poke into the deeper oil prone (?) zones - somewhere around Feb?

*based on a comment by PW in an interview (timing is my guess based on the current pres)

Yup, i believe that's about the sum of it. Take the drilling programme released in October for instance. They still have 5 wells to drill in 6 weeks.It ain't going to happen. Does it matter. I believe it does, particularly when added to all the other bits of mis information.

Agreed - it is frustrating. A steady succession of good news and it's always sold into so the share never gains momentum. I suspect that the overhang from the placing isn't quite over yet. Still, I thought it was undervalued when I bought and it is clearly more undervalued now the story's improved.

I agree with the posters above that this will all unfold in the first half of next year but it could start moving up any time - as soon as the willing sellers are done.

Never seem to be amazed by this share. It doesn’t seem to matter what the news flow is, it is met with utter indifference. The market must really believe that this is all a scam. I’m beginning to believe it. Utterly frustrated.

TggI think SD will be drilled late q1 2018, nice progress being made. Morocco will fund our development of the whole of SD, imho

Drilling is due to kick off next month at South Disouq, production sometime in Q1 18(?), once a production agreement has been sorted. Maybe news of said production agreement not too far away?

How can anyone 'keep a lid' on things?

If there is buying pressure then the only way to 'keep a lid' is for someone to sell, knowing full well that they expect the price to rise, i.e. they're selling at a price lower than one they know they can achieve. And bear in mind that as well as letting their mates accumulate, it lets everyone else do so as well.

I can think of plenty of other reasons one of them is this.

Buyers don't fully trust the management in terms of news releases in the recent past.
So they may feel that getting the forthcoming quarterlies and perhaps the ones after may well be a more prudent way of establishing exactly what is happening and how the financials are panning out. South Disouq only starts happening later next year so some may assume there's plenty of time to see how things are going.

Answer - when SDX make the discovery and you want to keep a lid on the share price so insiders or whoever can accumulate

All - I thought the below positive mentions in Panmure Gordon and Mirabaud's morning research notes might be of interest.

Panmure Gordon

SDX Energy £ Gas Discovery at KSR-15 (SDX LN, Mkt cap: £109.4m) £ Positive

A gas discovery has been made at the KSR-15 development will on the Sebou permit in Morocco. The reservoir encountered in 17.2m net of conventional natural gas across four intervals. At the primary target, the Hoot sand, average porosity was 29% which is the highest recorded in the basin, exceeding pre-drill estimates. The well is expected to be hooked up to existing infrastructure and put on production in early December. Testing of the previously drilled KSR-14 well which was also a discovery has been connected to the infrastructure and testing will commence this week. The discovery at KSR-15 compares well with the 20m interval discovered at KSR14 and we look forward to seeing how this well tests under production conditions in the coming weeks.

Mirabaud

SDX Energy (SDX LN) has announced a successful development well at its Sebou permit onshore Morocco. KSR-15 encountered 17m of net gas pay across four intervals, with the primary target demonstrating the highest porosity recorded in the basin. The well will be hooked up, and is expected to be on production early next month. Meanwhile the previously drilled KSR-14 well has been connected to local infrastructure, and production testing is expected to commence later this week.

Good news. The Moroccan assets are so important in diversifying the risk away from Egyptian assets. Another great result. This will rerate, its just a matter of time.
