fredfishcake: I've been an investor in SOM for years and what has always stood out was the honesty of the management. If it's going to be tricky, they tell you. Here they postponed the payment of the divi as a precaution, then when they found out things weren't going to be disastrous, they paid it out - without using the opportunity to 'rebase' as so many companies have. As such, I think we can believe the following: "We begin the second half of the year with confidence in the strength of our financial position, in the flexibility of our operating model, and in the demand seen for our recently launched products. At the same time, we remain cautious with the full understanding the uncertainty associated with the global pandemic will likely remain in place through the remainder of the year. Moving forwards, our focus is sharp and our management team is committed to continuing to deliver healthy profits and cash flows to our shareholders while continuing to make sound strategic investments for long-term growth."

hskuder: Hello. I have been purchasing stock in Somero because it is a great franchise that is lowly valued. I think the market has missed something. In the June update Somero said that current trading was 25% below the levels needed for market expectation. Somero sells big bulky equipment. Optional big spend is the first thing companies pull back on and the United States and European economies have not really started to open back up. So I think this will be improving every week! It is like picking a low point on a chart for consumer spending from VISA and extending those levels forward without a recovery. This is a strong franchise that is a lot more valuable than United Kingdom investors are giving credit for. My contrarian view is that I think the revenue by the end of the year will be 15 percent down. I think the new skyscreed machine can increase the market size for Somero by double if they do it right. sphere25: Hang on, just editing this post Where is the correction of the 1.75m trade gdjs100? Used another source and it normally identifies a correction but it is still showing one print of 1.75m rather than two so one correction. ADVFN need to sort out their trade corrections by marking them clearly for investors to see. Basem1, You can have a look at the posting history to see some of the recent trades and stocks that have been highlighted as interesting - had some cracking moves in there with a few stale ones too. I'm mostly trading and have a natural orientation toward the short term. This market has been perfect for it of late, though it has settled down a great deal now with the VIX trending down and the US indices pushing higher. It could all be an illusion though as we know 20% of the S&P500 is made up by the big five and the majority of stocks are nursing losses in the region of 35-40%. Still, it all feels a little edgy out there and with the major index constituents all reporting imminently too it could be a big week.

lammylover: Positive update, no reason not to be over 300p by next week - expect a bit of good coverage in Investors Chronicle etc to bring fresh money in and drive price up. I guess a few will take profits today; those who bought around 185-200p mark. I'm holding mine for 350p+. Rich

arregius: I ve been asking an insider at SOm about the sky screed and which companies purchased it. R four contracting as they announced was the first and apparently Phaze concrete bought it as well. After asking about kent companies (which they made a video on it) he has said: "Kent Co worked with us on initial testing of the machine. Ultimately they did not purchase but it was their decision. Sales have been split evenly between US and Canada and we have plenty of opportunities coming in the near weeks."After that I ask about if the split was 1:1 or they were more sales to which his answer: "Multiple. If you're looking for further information reach out to Jennifer Oliver for Investor Relations. "

cfro: Thats right JFTM, hence all im doing is following the big money and thus i have added to my holdings this morning. Lots of investors "predicting" a US recession (there is some important data due out around anytime now so maybe that will change things) but the management have already given guidance to the full year. On a fundamental basis the share price is on a low single digit pe and double digit divi yield.

clarea: I'm long but uneasy biggest holder is reducing, we are now very long in the recovery cycle longest bull market ever theres a good piece on the Investors chronicle about how companies with fixed costs do well at the start of the economic cycle but get hit hard when the recession starts. Som is better equiped to survive now with net cash than when it got into trouble a few years back I think the example from memory may even be based on Somero check the investors chronicle site Phil Oakley writer.
