27/4/2017 03:40 | Yep mine paid in yesterday by AJ Bell. I had sent a written email complaint yesterday based on fact that lots of other brokers having paid their clients including HL according to ADVFN SOM board! Said it wasn't good enough and someone somewhere was making money off interest and unreasonable. Maybe just coincidence that we all got paid on same day but always good to keep them on their toes! I like their platform but they need to improve in some areas. I can't set up trailing stop losses on the platform which is my main gripe.Anyway, SOM divi money all paid. I look forward to news on special divi later in year and to some level of corporate tax cuts in US in next 12 months plus hitting the 5 year plan on sales one year early. I'm keeping hold to see what occurs next 12 months as US economy doesn't look like it will soften but need to keep an eye on that over time. Regards | blueeyes13
26/4/2017 22:49 | Blueeyes...AJ Bell paid mine today. | villarich
26/4/2017 12:17 | Glad I took advantage of the recent dip..:o) | nurdin
26/4/2017 11:13 | not the best of posts but we seem to have movement ! | panic investor
26/4/2017 11:05 | Got mine from HL 6.58p. | gorilla36
26/4/2017 10:19 | They are also saying that it is broker dependent, so you might be able to get the tax reduced with different brokers. Did anyone use iDealing as I have an account with them and it may be worth switching my Somero holding over. | stepone68
26/4/2017 10:17 | i-Web Sharedealing (part of Halifax) are telling me the same thing - Somero settle through CREST and so filling out a W8-BEN would make no difference. If they paid through Tasser (never heard of it!) then the tax would be able to be reduced. StepOne | stepone68
26/4/2017 09:49 | Barclays have deducted tax at 30% from the dividend. As always with Barclays, I'll have to get in touch with them to remind them they already have a W8-BEN form for me and they should reclaim 15% tax for me. This has worked in the past, but it's a pain, and occasionally I'll forget to do it. It's really not good enough in this day and age. | rivaldo
25/4/2017 16:07 | Very strange re divi timing. Mine was reinvested (on Motley Fool) last Wed.. | greenhorn54
25/4/2017 14:53 | Thanks Terry236 et al. I will also email Halifax but I don't hold out much hope. | martinthebrave
25/4/2017 14:42 | and i thought Barca;ays were slow. All very pathetic in this day and age. You can bet somebody is making money from it somewhere | panic investor
25/4/2017 14:40 | AJ Bell will credit accounts on 2 May as the registrar will not allow AJ Bell to receive the divi via BACS...allegedly. Cheque has to be cleared and takes 10 days they say. | blueeyes13
25/4/2017 14:23 | And I'm still waiting for IG | saj3
25/4/2017 14:11 | This all very strange - I got 6.58p through HL | glaws2
25/4/2017 13:38 | Martin, i also hold with Halifax they have told me the exact same: "This particular stock is held through the CREST system, so the dividend received is taxed at 30%. A W8BEN form would not have affected this, as the W8BEN agreement is only in place if the company pays the dividend through Intesa (the usual system for US dividends). This is not something we have any control over I'm afraid, and as this is how the dividend has been paid to ourselves" I have asked them to investigate further - No idea if they will actually do anything with it though | terry236
25/4/2017 12:06 | Well i havent come across that martinthebrave. My divi came in at around 5.57p in the end. So i must have paid 15% tax as i worked it out that it should have been around 6.7p at current exchange rates. | cfro
25/4/2017 09:06 | Hold shares with Halifax & have W8 Ben form in place. Just received Dividend but taxed at 30%. Spoke to Halifax who tell me that because the shares are held within a UK Crest Settlement system there is nothing they can do to reduce the tax to 15%. Anybody come across this before? | martinthebrave
24/4/2017 15:45 | Mine too. At last :o)) | rivaldo
23/4/2017 10:48 | Mu divided arrived finally (Barclays) | panic investor
21/4/2017 14:57 | Well done m4ybe, excellent point to add/top-up here imo. AGM in June so i suspect the special divi might be announced then. | cfro
21/4/2017 14:27 | Added at 307, I don't see the pound rising meaningfully myself, trend still in place imo. | m4ybe
21/4/2017 14:15 | I have no problem with IG filled out w8-Ben form online and I have no problem but I have no more cash available at ig so wanted to do a top up | saj3
21/4/2017 13:25 | You have to call them - a nightmare - took 20 minutesStops me from parting with them too easily as you can't sell them online either ! | panic investor
21/4/2017 12:47 | Panic investor - how have you bought through BARCLAYS they wouldn't allow me to buy | saj3
21/4/2017 12:04 | Nothing in Barclays yet but they are always slow | panic investor |
