07/7/2017 09:51 | Shakester - it's possible SOLG is going the way of MARL after all. See my post on the other board. It could be the recent defections have cost the board the ability to contain Newcrest. I could be completely wrong about it. Would welcome your comments. | bookvan
07/7/2017 09:43 | There's something in yesterday's RNS that could be important. If it is nobody seems to have picked up on it. This is from the RNS: "iv) the placement to Newcrest involved an anti-dilution right to maintain a 14.54% interest in SolGold for a period of 12 months from the placement, following which the anti-dilution right would decline to 10%. Newcrest continues to be bound until 30 August 2019 by an obligation to support certain transactions including change of control transactions in SolGold which are recommended by the Board, supported by an independent evaluation, and supported by not less than 60% of the Company's shareholders in acceptances or at a General Meeting of shareholders." It's that last clause that says Newcrest has to support board decisions that are supported by not less than 60% of the company's shareholders. Now the large shareholders have gone to Cornerstone, can the board be sure of 60% support for anything it wants to do? If it can't then doesn't it in effect release Newcrest from it's obligation to act as a friendly neutral and instead pursue its own best interests? Might be completely off-beam about this and would welcome comments from finer minds. | bookvan
06/7/2017 17:59 | Very explicit RNS. Difficult to defend company from rumours. At least we have had some clarification. Obviously something has been going on behind the scenes. Resignation of director was sudden & RNS was abrupt. Hard to hang on when price keeps dropping. I'm hanging on anyway. Huge potential. So far NM hasn't put foot wrong.IMHO. | mam fach
06/7/2017 16:01 | I see it as a sensible notice to clarify things, the only bit that might be construed as "talking up" is the mention of applying the Alpala MO to 22 other porphory sites. Presumably not yet started since they can't get enough drills to Cascabel yet. One does wonder just who it is that swapped their substantial Solg holdings in favour of new Cornerstone shares? What do they expect to gain above holding Solg shares? I notice that the resource report is now pitched for the end of the year, so I guess no TSX listing this year? PS, I think it's now quite clear that NM wants a joint venture mining deal with Newcrest, to extract full value over a long period rather than a fast buck in the short term. The start of a mining giant, but it won't happen as fast as some holding Solg perhaps are hoping for? My guess the share price is likely to slip back from current levels at least until that resource report comes in, or perhaps some good news from early drilling of Aguinaga. | lefrene
06/7/2017 15:46 | Kev... I was thinking the same | smoothtrader
06/7/2017 15:32 | Latest RNS SOLG Trying to talk the share price up why? | cool hand kev
06/7/2017 07:42 | I don't know if the Team SOLG versus Team CGP way of looking at it helps. In the end private investors like us have to think about being on our own team. The best thing I can think of to do is hold both SOLG and CGP and not to have a fixed idea about the best outcome. | herbert howells
05/7/2017 18:04 | Me too, shakester. Not sure the comparison holds up. Just thinking out loud. | bookvan
05/7/2017 17:26 | There DOES seem to be something happening: a large amount of money seems to be moving from SOLG to CGP. Don't know what it means but it doesn't seem to be doing our share price any favours. | herbert howells
05/7/2017 16:36 | I get the feeling that we are going to tread water for quite a while. The big boys have pretty much lined up their ducks pre TSX and Main Market listing, but they still have to finish drilling Apalla to get that initial resource statement together, and the drills for that have not yet started work. Other parts of Cascabel are going to have to wait until Alpalla is finished. So my guess, short of an off the wall bid, there won't be much doing here for maybe three months? But of course I might be wrong. | lefrene
05/7/2017 08:51 | Bookvan - I hope not, would be too early for that imo. Was a MARL holder and gutted at what happened | shakester2
05/7/2017 07:42 | The MMS SHOULD LET SOLG FIND ITS OWN LEVEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | cuthbert cuthbertson senior
05/7/2017 07:34 | SPECULATION CORNER. Posters on ceo.ca seem to be assuming it's SOLG versus CGP in a kind of cut throat battle for top dog to force a take out. But suppose SOLG and CGP are actually working in a kind of partnership: are we looking at something like MARL/SAND in the offing? Out of my depth, just wondering. | bookvan
04/7/2017 16:35 | Not good again today, took a small profit at 14:18 and into PVR.Once they start drilling, hoping to use profits to keep a longer term holding here... :-) | ragewarrior
04/7/2017 16:05 | Cornerstone suspended. Wish Solg was then it couldn't fall further. | mam fach
04/7/2017 15:53 | And back down again! If it gets much lower I will pick up some more. | lefrene

04/7/2017 08:57 | The latest angry geologist blog discloses he owns SOLG. It must have been an oversight in the last one. | bookvan
03/7/2017 16:51 | Weird, so there is, ten minute intervals. What is that algorithm intended to do? I hope it's going short and gets some unexpected good news! | lefrene |
