I rather suspect that the overhang whilst not being allowed onto the market until April, is nonetheless being used to underwrite shorting activity. Cannacord-Genuity is one of the 25p backers and they are as sharp as it gets, if they can turn a dollar without doing anything against the rules, then they will. Yes quite likely a helpful rns will make a timely appearance for Mr Garwin's presentation, but will it help the price for more than a day or two, or indeed at all?

Yes, with Garwin presenting, I'm sure they will bust a gut to get a drill results RNS out on the 22nd. Point taken about the overhang but a lot can happen between now and 1 April, including game-changing news.

Very much looking forward to Dr Steve Garwin's presentation on the 22nd. Hopefully rig 12 has joined the fray and is humming away sweetly, we should also have some more drilling results out soon with luck.

And those 180 million shares don't come to the open market until April, so that lump overhangs the market, it will likely sit around this level until a full market is resumed.

dmitri - a few weeks ago there was a bought-deal for 180 million new shares at 25p to provide solg with enough funding to carry it through 2018.

Would anybody be willing to give me a quick explanation of the fall from the highs here please? Is it just from cascabel being more difficult to mine than first thought? Being lazy but i haven't looked at this for ages and it's a lot of posts to trawl through.

I guess 25p is the floor for this given the bought deal with the banksters, the current firm price of gold and copper certainly helps, but more news required of increased size and richness of Alpala would be helpful.

Yes, a coiled spring in need of a catalyst. My hope is that we will soon get one with another world class drill result which expands the high grade core of the Alpala deposit - we have not had one for several months as they have been exploring to define the perimeter of the Alpala deposit. Next on my list is an eye-opening drill result from a location outside Alpala, such as Trevino, Carmen and Aguinaga. This would refresh the Solg story and help to attract new investors.Investors - those who are not chasing the cryptos _ are spoilt for choice at the moment as many beaten down stocks take on a new look with the rising price of gold and silver.

Chart starting to look a tad compressed. Coiled spring anyone? If Gold continues rallying we may get swept up with the POG simply based on our name alone? I have a feeling we might be about to break to the upside. IMO.

One has already alwaysevolving, it's Newcrest. It's a slow burn game, let the prospector exhaust themselves digging up jewels to lay at your feet, take your time choosing the best in the pile, keep the prospector close to you just in case another suitor might cast his eye in your direction. Keep prospector keen by dangling promises just out of reach. Wait for prospector to get so tired that they accept your terms. NM being an old hand will have seen this played out in the past, hence the interesting structure of sub companys that Solg controls. But until we find the ultimate holder(s) of those overhanging 180 million new shares I think we will languish at these levels.

Lefrene, re 11611, I completely agree. Just wish one of said behemoths would hurry up and wade in and make a sensible offer for a take out. The fact that no one seems to be doing so while we are apparently sitting on such resources few of which are seemingly currently priced in leaves one to imagine “why not?” And it’s this that worries me a little.

If Newcrest like what they see and ploughed in money at 41p, I'm inclined to take Newcrest's view a bit more seriously than a journo who has to fill some column inches. This thing can only go as fast as holes can be drilled and assayed.
