There's much more to this than is currently visible, paying 30% above the current share price is brilliant news for holders, how many times do we see small caps raising cash at discounted prices that prosecutes and dilutes lths, well done solg.

If BHP were prepared to pay 45p it's still not too late to buy.
NM played a blinder.
Company is in safe hands.
Well done all who have held on.

Bound to be some profit taking, some guys will have done well already. Likely to see this slip a bit from opening, but BHP involvement is further vindication, if that is needed for optimism of a much higher share price

Should give Solg a two year window in which to prove up Cascabel and several of the other attractive prospects such as Blanca Nieves in their regional exploration programme. So good chance shareholders will then have a realistic price that values Solg for what it has been and still is discovering.

To BHP's £45m we can add another £10m from the warrant exercise by the end of this month. NM on top form!

Excellent $SOLG $SOLG.L #ecuador news to return from being offline for a while.

Here's broker Berenberg's positive take on the news (tweeted by Solgold). $CGP

Amur Minerals (AMC) is a better choice than VAST. £30billion in the ground, PFS imminent and the market cap is a tiny £28m, not a better prospect on the market for a multibagger in the near term. DYOR

Could be opening targets of 65/70p once 45 is a level that becomes support . Should be seen as a beginning IMO

I imagine that BHP are not expecting to pay 45p to get the other 89%. They will be expecting to pay much more.

Sorry to hear that mad foetus... nothing wrong with capital protection and most times it's the right thing to do.However whatever the action today we will still have a long way to go so I'd bite the bullet myself and get back in at some stage.bestODR

The signs were clearly there, but 45p is aggressive!

I sold out last week, thought the general markets were weak and knew SOLG would need a big cash injection at some point. Talk about a bad mistake, all birds thwacked with one stone here. Good luck all holders, please arrange a nice pullback so. Can get back in at a cheap price!

This now really underpins the price. They're serious and are not playing games. Probably quite lucky with the global sell off which saw this dip but there u go.

BHP get another 5% of SOLG.
SOLG get more money.
BHP gets a director, little influence but insider knowledge.
BHP won't buy more shares or make a bid for SOLG unless that bid is approved by SOLG (so may still bid).
If anyone else bids then all bets are off.

BHP happy to pay 45p per share. Presumeably because they think that is very good value.
