15/6/2018 16:47 | Always find it amazing - 3 different accounts with SIA in 2 accounts received dividend - third one missing. All of the accounts are with the same broker ! | yasrub
15/6/2018 15:47 | Yep a nice juicy £520 credit this morning, just need a bit of capital growth now. | ny boy
15/6/2018 08:05 | Dividend day! At least something good to look forward to here ;-) | lauders
15/6/2018 01:36 | Ed ...Fishing the data pool for comfort? Well you've got that wrong. In any event being supercilious/snarky is just not called for. | tournesol
15/6/2018 00:58 | Emptyend You are incorrigible..... Oooooo, you little flirt! The problem for the seller on Thursday was that there was not enough interest on the buy side of the order book. So, as you say, there were no big trades. The seller had no option but to drip them out, and the selling took the share price down 3%. Thursday's 290k shares traded on a single day was above average. Tournesol Fishing the data pool for comfort? Perhaps one of the agm attendees will tell you what Ed Story said about the lack of liquidity in the shares? | ed 123
14/6/2018 19:46 | Of course you've also got to look at a time period somewhat longer than a single day or a week. PMG has had a very strong run over the past few months. It's allowed a day off now and then. SDX and HUR likewise albeit not quite as much. I tend to think that SIA has simply got its needle stuck. | tournesol
14/6/2018 19:17 | Without wishing to intercede in this debate, I'd observe that there seems to be a difference between companies where investors (perhaps mainly institutions) may think they know what is happening - and those where they have less clarity/certainty.In other words, it comes down to confidence in the near/medium term - and there are few surprises adjusting for that measure.........but that might just indicate an opportunity for those who are better-informed than average? | emptyend
14/6/2018 19:00 | Ed at close AEX -4% HUR = PMG -1.6% SDX -3.2% SIA -3.6 I regard variations of plus/minus 1% as Brownian motion and signifying nothing whatsoever. | tournesol
14/6/2018 16:18 | "Material seller"....??LOL.... | emptyend
14/6/2018 14:06 | Tournesol. Your e&p stocks may be down but perhaps you're just having a unlucky blip. Other oil stocks are up. BP. +1.1% CNE +0.6% PMO +2.5% RDSB +0.8% SQZ +1.3% Another down one is: TLW -0.5% Anyway Soco is not really e&p, very largely p. So, I'd argue, should be less volatile if oil is steady, everything else being equal. However, there is an unequal thing: There appears to be a material seller atm in Soco shares. | ed 123
14/6/2018 13:57 | Yep all six PlusOneCoin are working again and five 5 coins per click Strange ring the fourth one in the list the one below paid out twice | football
14/6/2018 13:48 | Ed ...As a whole, I'd say the oil sector was flat today, whereas Soco is down 3%…. I wish you were right but at time of posting it looks much more sectoral than stock specific. E&P stocks in my portfolio are all down, as follows:- AEX -4% HUR -1% PMG -1% SDX -3.2% SIA -2.86% Soco does not stand out to my eyes. T | tournesol
14/6/2018 13:25 | How can you say that Ed - the new BD dream team of the two from Cairn - apologies forget their names - have hardly had time to bed down, according to EE anyway? How long did it take the chap to go into Greenland and spend a billion on errr nothing (except for some really important information I suppose!) whilst at Cairn? It's deals like that, that we need to get the share price moving, I tell you. All imho and no investment advice intended of course. | dunderheed
14/6/2018 13:02 | Yes, I'm still lurking. As a whole, I'd say the oil sector was flat today, whereas Soco is down 3%. Ed Story wanted to improve liquidity in Soco shares. It is difficult for institutional holders. Seems that one wants to reduce but there isn't enough balancing buying. (Only?) private investors are buying a few, so the share price is drifting downwards. Needs a good rns, something tangible and value-enhancing, not rns of M&A team/new NEDs/business intentions. Other oil companies are advancing their operations, trading assets, enhancing value. Soco needs to do the same. Is it time for changes at the top? | ed 123
14/6/2018 12:17 | ....actually, just on the volumes point, it is interesting to look at the last month's volumes. The last ten trading days have averaged about 100,000 shares a day, but the preceding 13 trading days averaged about 300,000.....both numbers showing little variation between days. The significance seems that the bigger buying lasted only until the ex-div date......and now we're back to "meh" whilst we wait for action.... | emptyend
14/6/2018 12:04 | Negligible volume therefore nothing specific to SOCO. Automated trades more likely to be basket trading. Good to know you are still lurking over the buy button though..... ;-) | emptyend
14/6/2018 11:55 | Think you are probably right Ed. Totally understand your view and the market - saying show me the money first. But don't worry they will do! | nigelpm
14/6/2018 11:48 | Gap filled today at 102p, gap up next to fill at 118p ;) | dealer1972
13/6/2018 13:33 | Better map here:https://www.ene | emptyend
13/6/2018 11:21 | Indeed, Peter. What I hadn't appreciated until I inspected the map is just how large those 4 licence areas actually are. I had assumed they would be more tightly-defined around the discoveries. The licence terms were, you will recall, relaxed after renegotiating....... so we will soon (I hope) see an outcome that exceeds at least some of the expectations. Certainly selling the blocks when there is a licence round in the offing looks a smart move in terms of interest levels. | emptyend
13/6/2018 10:49 | Hopefully that map will be out of date soon! | greyingsurfer
13/6/2018 10:40 | I see that X marks the spot......https://ww | emptyend
10/6/2018 20:39 | If we are still around next year I'll make it my goal to be there! | nigelpm
10/6/2018 18:40 | Fair enough....would be good to have the dozen or so hanging around that we used to have - hopefully by next year we'll all consider that time well spent! (Ps....Danny had to leave too - which was also a shame) | emptyend |
