Sorry Fan - not been following IPL this year.

I'm actually slightly disappointed the share price has performed so well in the last few weeks - I was hoping to make one final top up this week - much harder to justify when it has already climbed 30%.

Don't think it really matters to be honest - cash flow and numbers much more important than the change in NED.

I mainly had in mind that OB had been on the board for far too long. I reserve judgement on Martin, though he seems very well-qualified....but no reason to rush to a view.

21105 was thinking exactly the same thing!
Very very well paid team for relative non current delivery, resting on historical reasonable deal laurels but, looks like they've seriously missed the boat re timing and other potential value adding deals? But wtfdik and as ever, all imho.

Hi ee - are you sure that the appointment of John Martin, who was most recently ousted as a NED from Bowleven, is such a good thing?

This is in light of the overly generous share options that the Board have recently awarded themselves - Bowleven has benefitted massively from the overhaul last year, and this doesn't strike me as a particularly reassuring move by SOCO which seems to be slowly turning itself into 'old' Bowleven.

Good to see an overdue switch of NEDs being made with effect from the AGM. Interesting also to see some committee roles changing.

Drivel. They RNS'd a bid approach in 2008, scuppered by the financial crisis. Nobody saw that coming. No particularly good reason to change the thread title.

Reserved for Saul.
Big left side wonder if sia has been looking at Iran for possible deals?

There does seem to be a huge potential bowl here, but not up to speed with why the share price decline, for so long, apart from PoO, of course. EE has been calling this the endgame since 2008 or whenever it was, and it hasn't been the best call in the market, which is putting it mildly. But now it does seem overlooked.

Last time Brent at 80$ ? - It was first half November 2014 when Soco was circa 325p per share and production at circa 13k/14k.

Worth looking again at what they did with reserves in the March 2015 presentation.

Yup, I should have said 'lower' rather than 'about the same'. Point still stands.

Yip sitting on the resistance line of an 18month downward wedge, hoping she will push through this time. If not at $80 might push through at a $100 a barrel 🙈

You'd think so, but Soco was a lot higher last yeer, when the oil price was about the same as it is now.

1.20 looks like the level to beat. And isn't this really about the PoO?

don't forget soco goes ex divi for 5.25p in about a weeks time, so perhaps it will be tough to stay above 110 ? but then a week is a long time in soco shares !

If this holds above 1.10 this looks to be a great basing pattern, with 1.60 as a realistic target short term. This seems to have missed out on the greater gains of its peers in the sector, and gives a decent dividend. Picked some up this morning.

Someone managed to offload 50k shares just then - I hate referring to any trade as a buy/sell as they are both but trade done 1p below market at time and sudden flurry of SETS order book trades hitting the bid.
