Reporters starting to pickup on the “possibility” of a strategic move by Comcast... wishful thinking maybe - but one more idea supporting Sky at present.

10p special dividend on its way.

“The CMA delay means that Sky shareholders will receive a special dividend of 10 pence (13 U.S. cents) per share "without a reduction in the offer price of £10.75 per Sky share," according to Sky's Oct. 12 earnings release.”

"We can now confirm that the ex-dividend date will be 11 January 2018 and the dividend will be paid on 9 February 2018 to shareholders on the register at close of business on 12 January 2018 should the Offer not have completed by 31 December 2017," the company added.

CMA just announced initial findings pushed back from 18 Dec to mid Jan now.

Citing huge number of submissions (12000) to review. Who the heck is making all these submissions? Is it all activists and moaners? Has anyone said anything nice about the deal? :)

Anyway, my conspiracy theory(!), this conveniently delays the findings to a point where a Disney deal may make them irrelevant/unnecessary...

Looks like CNBC reporting at about the same time that the deal may be announced as soon as next week, easing the passage of the Sky bid.

David Faber has been breaking this story quite sharply over the last few weeks.

You could well be right, not heard of this before.

Although - that interpretation assumes Fox bought ANY shares in the 12m before the bid. What if their 39% stake was amassed longer ago? There would be no 12m reference price in that case...

That’s why I’m not sure what price the snippet refers to.

Just saw an interesting post on iii thanks to Hopeful Investor. Not a piece of info I’ve heard about before.

Price could in theory be £11.12 based on a quick look at the chart in the 12m period before bid. :)
