15/12/2016 11:38 | The TIMES seems to think that Fox will go formal this afternoon..........w | anley
14/12/2016 15:02 | Gordon Brown has demanded that Rupert Murdoch’s takeover of the Sky satellite business be delayed until the government carries out the second part of the Leveson inquiry into press malpractice. In a letter to the culture secretary, Karen Bradley, the former prime minister said the bid by Murdoch-controlled 21st Century Fox for Sky made the “promised but delayed second part of the Leveson inquiry … particularly relevant and timely”. Leveson part two was designed to investigate the relationship between the press and the police, in particular the close relationship between senior officers of the Metropolitan police service and executives and journalists at the Murdoch-owned News International, which publishes the Sun and the Times and used to publish the News of the World | mornington crescent
13/12/2016 10:29 | Is Murdoch's latest bid to buy Sky about to fail again? Shareholder anger over £18bn 'bargain of a lifetime' deal | dmf
13/12/2016 09:14 | Thanks Boix. | tim 3
12/12/2016 18:05 | If bid fails 21C Fox will be a seller at last! But I expect the bid to succeed but they have to get shareholder approval ASAP so I expect the offer to rise a bit to keep the big holders on side. It's a negotiation. | boix
12/12/2016 17:59 | Sold about half my position at 1042p on Friday.I will add if it drops further.Regards | boix
12/12/2016 12:05 | Take it your holding Boix? Gut feel is they will hover around £10 until we get more news. Think they are more likely to move up a bit more but there is always the risk of a long investigation or the bid failing which could mean a big fall. imo. | tim 3
12/12/2016 11:47 | Chaps. That's very unlikely. Some shareholders want £13.50 - now that's unlikely. Suspect they will get £11.75ish? But no one will walk away. Watch. | boix
12/12/2016 10:43 | I think the share price indicates that there has been no bid which will be accepted by Sky shareholders and Fox might not be able to afford to buy Sky. | nerdlinger
12/12/2016 10:31 | Market, sorry | ajmace
12/12/2016 10:31 | Does the. Armed not believe this will be sold?Otherwise it should be higher than £10 shouldn't it? | ajmace
12/12/2016 08:31 | Highly unlikely More likely collapse in U.K. Economy but I think we will have to agree to disagree. | boix
12/12/2016 08:10 | BOIX - more likely the collapse of the EU Economy. AO | a0148009
12/12/2016 06:59 | The Sky business model performs better during downturns/recessions People have no money and stay at home for entertainment. They actually upgrade their TV packages. Strange but true. | boix
12/12/2016 00:53 | If BREXIT is so bad; why is Murdoch buying SKY? Why not wait 5 years and buy it for £2 ,in the collasped UK economy? | brain smiley
11/12/2016 15:41 | Interestingly Sky's TV subscriber base is flat in the UK(has been for quite a while) but growing in both Italy and Germany. The churn numbers talked about include UK broadband subscribers. That is where the churn is as Broadband subscribers are always moving to the cheapest deal. Sky have been enormously successful up selling products and so revenue per subscriber is always rising as their range of products grows. Also interestingly most UK Netflix's subscribers are ALSO Sky TV subscribers. Netflix is not used as a substitute. Please do the research. But it makes no difference now as Mr Murdoch has got the deal of the century. | boix
11/12/2016 15:23 | Agree Cautious More and more people I know are dumping Sky and streaming services seem particularly popular recently. Also younger people in particular spend increasing amounts of time on the net rather than watching TV. | tim 3 |
