Generally ignore anything on Directors talk, however the silence from SPL of late might be better news (contracts, bank loans, partner etc) might be in the offing. Having said that normally no news isn't necessarily good when it comes to SPL

Good opportunity for anyone still long to ease some positions into the pump and dump. You may as well take any muppet money which comes along.

Exactly. They should reduce the size of the project to funds available, prove the damn thing works and is in demand, and cut back all expenses and extortionate salaries, as we would do if we faced personal financial problems.

Are 'friends' placing articles to try and lift the share price in order to assist with a fund raising? Stop looting the company with unearned high salaries and outrageous 'travel expenses', and get something up and running to generate some cash flow. Too much grandiosity, we don't need a Rolls Royce facility, we just need to see something actually earning some cash.

They will just end up shifting muck from one place to another!....It begs the question is it really worth having a port there...turn it into a holiday resort!...not too late...

Its another smoke screen imo following on from the ship repair facility.

How much of the £38m is for additional reclamation material? Surely the settle couldn't have been more than 10/15% more? The sums do no add up. They would also have known this from an early stage but it was not reported in any RNS or update, especially as further works have been done on the surface. Or had the ground settled after these works causing re-works? If they knew the ground was settling more then they have misled investors surely?

What other parts of the project did they miscalculate costings for? £38m for 'additional' land fill is ludicrous imo

I see the improved communication with shareholders is still pie in the sky, as is the port.
All they have really is a pile of muck. Now they find it is settling and they need more muck. That`s what earth does, even I know that.
Perhaps they could make a football pitch instead, or have they already tried this idea.

Sadly tyrannosaurus, they were not 'cowboy' types, indeed ultra cautious of a high and jealously guarded reputation and scrupulously honest, as indeed I am myself. That's what made the experience the more confounding. I knew exactly where the business was in the actual world of cash flow, cash in hand, and liabilities to be met, because of my own spread sheet. But looking at the accounts produced for the parallel world of accountancy, my own business was unrecognisable and unfathomable. They didn't try to dupe the person who bought the business, but both of those parties might have understood their world, but it didn't work in the actual world since a healthy profitable business was destroyed in a few weeks.

I have since had the experience of going through a friends business which was a 22 bedroom hotel/country pub in Oxon. He was elderly and had a manager who I suspected was robbing him of a great deal of money. The actual accounts were unfathomable although all passed through by HM Revenue. I had to get hold of all the bank statements and cheque books and create a spread sheet to find the actual real story. It turned out the business was being overcharged in almost everything it bought in, and of course the manager was getting kickbacks from all the suppliers. Plus by going through room bookings, again setting up a spread sheet, it became apparent that he was offering discounts for rooms paid in cash, and then pocketing the cash. The things that happen when you trust employees!
