11/11/2019 17:22 | I get that almost noone here is listening (so what is the point in posting) but aren't we all missing the point that the financing very nearly got away and failed for a specific reason? AFAICT the original financing would in all likelihood have been successful but for the conditions JPM imposed on the $500m in order to release the rest of the massive tranche of debt. In effect Sirius has just removed the JPM restrictions by initially limiting the project scope. And remember that without these restrictions this company had potential offers for the required $500m, plus Sirius had actually raised another $400m (since given back), why should they not now be able to raise $600m debt finance for what is a lower risk initial project? I am not saying there is no risk - and there might yet be substantial dilution - but I still think the risk/reward equation is looking a lot better for new investors today than it did yesterday. | the millipede

11/11/2019 15:31 | Company behind £3bn mine near Whitby hoping to raise another £470m to get production going Analysts suggested that the new plan, put forward by Sirius chief executive Chris Fraser, could be good news for shareholders, some of whom had expected the value of their shares to be seriously damaged. Analyst Richard Knights at Liberum said: "Today’s release implies scope for less dilution than expected, if it can be executed. "This approach allows us to achieve that with less upfront capital while retaining the significant return opportunity it presents for our shareholders and stakeholders." | johnwise

11/11/2019 13:25 | Sirius Minerals: Why wetter-than-expected rock will save hundreds of millions on mine project A discovery about the type of rock being dug out for its 23km tunnel has meant excavation has speeded up by 40%, saving both money and time. It's understood the rock is wetter than the expected harder, drier rock, making excavation quicker than hoped. Using the conveyor on the tunnelling machine to extract polyhalite, instead of installing a new one, will save a further £77m. | johnwise

11/11/2019 12:52 | So, 'US$600 million of new capital (in addition to existing cash resources) which would need to be committed prior to the end of Q1 2020' Anyone got a spare 600m in the next few months then? How is the funding-plan a "lifeline" without the funding ? | kreature

11/11/2019 12:47 | All these optimistic posts on here following the news release and progress update is having no effect whatsoever on the share price and that's all that matters. I couldn't give a rabbits pube if they can demonstrate lower costs blah blah. Get the money and get on with it as I am sick and tired of listening to corporate rhetoric. Personally, I think this stock is finished (if the share price dropping to 3p wasn't saying that anyway). If anyone pulls out fertiliser out of Whitby then it won't be the current owners | ialwayswinatmonopoly
