Riv,

At the time of the interims I had a debate with posters regarding how conservative the revenue recognition policy was. Having to negotiate your trading updates as you suggest with the auditors doesn't seem that conservative to me.

Last year on flat turnover they increased profit by 50%, this year on sharply decreasing turnover (which was not expected from company statement in Sept) they've maintained profit. I'm slightly suspicious how they are able to manage their cost base to that extent.

I can't quite understand why a YE (31st Dec) trading statement for a micro cap with rev of less $7m takes until late March to report.

There is no reason imo why it couldn't have been released at the AGM.

At the interims in Sept 15 they said

Board expects to record correspondingly higher revenues for the second half of the year albeit with the associated costs associated with that revenue.

Bearing in mind that statement was released in Sept, it's strange that the revenues didn't appear but even stranger the associated costs didn't appear either.

SIM's EPS has gone from 2.1c in 2013 to 2.9c in 2014 and a forecast 3c EPS for 2015, with 3.2c forecast for this year - around 2.3p EPS.

That's a P/E of 6.2.

A 52% rise in 3 years isn't too shabby. And in sterling terms it will look even better.

In the meantime there's also a decent divi yield to keep investors happy, with 0.7c forecast for 2015 - around a 3.5% yield.

Given the inherent lumpiness of SIM's orders, I feel they haven't been given enough credit for the smoothness of their growth and performance. And the spacing out of the $6.7m contract will also benefit this year.

It is in the 'too good to be true' category. I'll continue to hold, but fear outweighs hope.

It appears there eps year on year has stalled and that I feel to some extent is causing the share price to fall as well as the hangover of stock!

A VERY encouraging year end trading update.

The share price has factored in a disaster, yet SIM are trading nicely in line with expectations of 1.96p EPS (almost £1m PBT):

Plus there's "more than $7.0m" of cash.

This against a £7m m/cap!

And the outlook is very confident too:

"This base provides SimiGon with the opportunity to maintain and grow its strong financial position whilst achieving a robust pipeline of new opportunities which gives us great confidence for 2016 and beyond."

What a horrid spread !
If I wanted to sell the shares I have just bought at 15.95p, I would be facing a loss of 3p a share.

Just noticed two 950k deferred trades (type OK) went through on Tuesday (23/2). Must be close to clearing this overhang now!

Edit: Not showing at all on ADVFN Trades for that day but they do appear on a competitors site. ????

Finncap clearly not bothered about their own credibility then !

I'll reiterate my "which is going to be the first Israeli AIM stock to hold a p/e over 10 for any length of time ?"

Surely one must soon...

There's also a brief mention in today's Shares Mag - SIM had around $7.9m net cash plus well over $1m excess receivables over payables at the interims, so slightly better than "adequate" :o))

"SimiGon
(SIM:AIM)

CHEAP

Profit is rising at thesimulation solutions business; it pays dividends;
and seems to have adequate cash when it last reported in September 2015. We note that market interest has waned, leaving the share price drifting somewhat.
However, the aviation training market looks to have good demand longterm
so this could pleasantly surprise in time. Worth a speculative ‘buy’ at 14.5p."

Interesting 2p rise yesterday, especially given there were only two small trades (admittedly including a buy at 17p).

And Finncap did reiterate their 45p target yesterday:

Last year there was a trading update on 10th February, so perhaps we'll see further interest in the expectation of a repeat.

PJ1 & gnnmartin - thanks for the responses much appreciated. The reason for AGM's being in the USA is because I think their manufacturing is based there where the biggest market is. This appears apparent that a lot of their job vacancies are always in the US.

As you say it would be nice to have an AGM in the UK!!

PJ1 indeed. The main thing stopping me averaging down is their rather odd location. Israel company having AGMs in the USA, so no chance to meet the directors face to face.

DGW- I was referring generally to the 'feeling' that anything on AIM based off shore is suspect, but I wasn't specifically aiming it at SIM, so please do not take it out of context. When the s*it flies we all get a bit.

Had a quick look at Stockopedia and ignoring hy2015 they have positive free cashflow from 2010.

Just noticed the 2 new Non-Exec appointments from late December, not your typical experience for a technology company.

A 10k buy has moved the price up again....

Scary chart to buy though especially on a day like today. Little blue!

I guess it comes down to if the cash pile exists or not with so many frauds exposed in 2015.

edit-I'm not inferring this is fraudulent!

It was certainly good to see the price rise by 2p on just 36k of buys. Presumably someone's doing some canny bottom-fishing.

There's only 15k maximum available to buy online. Hopefully all this this means the overhang is largely or completely cleared.

Microscope
Over the last 5 months or so the Simigon share price has, following a good news 'spike', always reverted back to 15-18p.
Although there was no evidence provided I have assumed that poster ESWR was correct with his claim that there is a large overhang so did a little digging after my initial purchase in July.
In May Packet Science Ltd transferred/sold 4 million shares to Jarvis Investment Management which left them holding 1.4 million. This is probably some/all of the overhang.
There have been just over 5 million shares traded in Simigon since June 1st.
It's pure guesswork as to how many shares they both want to sell/have sold since June 1st as there have been no further RNS, but I am assuming that JIM's holding is not strategic!
I had a similar issue with Empresaria (EMR) this time last year and that worked out well in the end.
If you believe in the fundamentals, as you probably know, is just a matter of patience and trying to time your buy before the rise!
