So I have done my research, that is why I was asking the question. Is there a drug actually in the clinic?. As far as I could see, some CTA's have been approved but could not see any clinical starts. Please let now if I have this wrong. Arrowhead shares are also increasing sharply, so I was wondering if the share price rise here is based on general momentum in the RNA area, which I think offers huge potential. But still early says for Silence, even tough the have been going for some time. For an example of how things can co quickly of track, you only need to look at Regulus Therapeutics. Delivery and toxicity his area still seem a challenge.

You gotta feel for the clown at Aviva that sold a 5 per cent stake at around 55p in June. I dont suppose they will be getting their Xmas bonus this year lol.

Not sure why this is going up so rapidly. Does not seem to be any significant new clinical news . And as far as I can see , doesn’t seem to be any programmes in the clinic?

Institutions loading up for their tracker funds in lieu of coming out of AIM and into FTSE?

Alnylam managed $46m of global net product revenues for Onpattro just in the 3rd quarter. This is the one on which SLN settled its patent disputes with Alny for a 0.33% to 1% royalty on European net sales, until 2023. So some royalties to come for SLN over the next few years, as well as some validation of the potential value of RNAi medicines.

With a trade going through at 446.8p earlier today, that was more than 10x the 12th June closing low of 44.2p (and a bigger multiple of the 7th June 42p intraday low). So 10-bagged in-year by those measures.

But the sector (RNAi) is hot and by some measures SLN is on a lowly valuation relative to its peers. The CEO is fond of mentioning Arrowhead (ARWR) and Dicerna (DRNA). Market caps are:

$0.4bn SLN (78m shares x £4.00/share x $1.30/£)
$1.1bn DRNA
$3.8bn ARWR

DRNA valued at last night's close but up 15% in pre-market after announcing a deal with Roche.

So if we take ARWR as a target valuation, we could 10-bag again from here, although I think it fair to say ARWR is ahead of SLN in terms of both partnership deals and getting through the clinic.

But on the other hand this is biotech and one serious adverse reaction in the upcoming SLN clinical trial (or even in someone else's clinical trial which is seen to have read-across to SLN) and the value could take a beating.

DeMark heights & Fibonacci projection suggest an ultimate target of c.1000 - however looks like it will run into major resistance at c.600 first.

Hey mate you may well know I've been in for about 15years (no exaggeration). Mine were a mix of buying in the old SR Pharma days and early SLN years as well as a few when they were around 200 a couple of years back. I even held on through the disastrous (for me) 1/50 redistribution a few years back. Net result I reckon I need around 500p for a break even (well quoted in previous posts). This year SLN did a tremendous deal with Malinkcrodt and since then it's been on a climb like I haven't seen since my early days of the low 2000s. Ian Ross is also back on board and the CEO is really doing a great job of showing confidence and at the same time being as candid as he can about the future. If you were here long enough ago with characters like Buzzzz around then his old mantra of infinity and beyond is feeling a lot more in range, than maybe it ever was before. I truely hope that a lot of the old gang held on and we see a meaningful return for everyone who's had the guts and means to hangin there. GLA

I'm a long term shareholder (since 2008) and ignored this share for many years but have noticed the recent jump in the share price (in particular today!). Can anybody tell me in simple terms what is happening and where we're going?

Yes, indeed, not much of a head-fake this morning with that slight dip.

I've sold another 10% or so there, most at fractionally under £4. It's still a ridiculous % of my portfolio, but who knows how much higher it might go and how quickly so I don't want to sell too much at once.

My problem here is that I have no idea where to attribute a fair price! Having held for so many years I don't want to sell to early, but what is this potentially worth! 500p, £10? Who knows!
