27/10/2015 08:19 | varies, thanks for the heads-up. i will put a call into my broker today and see what they have to say and how it'll all work. we had written these off so anything will be a bonus :) | parvez
21/10/2015 13:55 | My Silanis share certificate came today - 10 days from request. Seems okay. | russman
20/10/2015 19:16 | My limited understanding is:- Share Certificates will be issued to the name on the share register by Capita in Beckenham. I have asked my nominee to request the certificate to be issued in my personal name. The Share Centre said that they could not manage the paper certificate; I had no choice. I suggest that you ask your nominee what they are going to do with the certificate when they get it - maybe they can file it. Crest would have been easy, this is going to get very messy. | russman
20/10/2015 18:30 | I will double check but I was told that they are losing their Crest account and a share certificate will be issued in the name on the register. I am the only SNS shareholder at Share Centre; do not get stuck at the end of the queue getting your stock out of your nominee pool. | russman
20/10/2015 11:29 | Parvez It seems that I am in the same position as your son; my shares are held by Barclays Stockbrokers in a MarketMaster account. I spoke to them a week ago and learnt that it would take 6-8 weeks to put these into my name whereas the move of the register to Canada (if this is what is happening) is due by 23 October. BS and I concluded that it would only complicate proceedings if we started the transfer process at this late date. Let us hope that our nominees can tender our shares for us and credit the proceeds to our accounts. Russman Thank you for alerting us to this extra hazard. I was caught out many years ago for having failed to lodge a W-BEN-8 (???) with the US tax authorities and suffered a deduction from the proceeds of an American takeover. I never got my tax back. So I shall be more careful this time. | varies
20/10/2015 08:41 | mu son's are held in a nominee account so guess will hear from his broker | parvez
16/10/2015 07:01 | We need to complete Canadian Non - Resident Tax Form on our list of jobs to do. A bit early but I am keen as mustard. | russman
14/10/2015 17:37 | I am sure management options will take a big slice. Do not quote me but on the back of my envelope = 50p ish. I am not counting my chickens until I see the cash. Cheered me up. Hurrrrraaaaaaaah. | russman
12/10/2015 09:30 | The offer is in US$; Matt tells me. | varies
11/10/2015 14:05 | Russman Isn't this news wonderful ? I had little hope of seeing my money back here and may now end up with a good profit. There seem to be about 100 million shares in Silanis Technology divided between 5 classes and allowing for some options. If the classes are all treated equally we should get 85c per share but I fear that I may have missed some factor. Vasco's announcement refers to $85 million without specifying whether these are $Can or $US. Since Vasco is a US company I am hoping that the $ are US too; I am asking Matt Lane. There may be a disappointment in store for us but 55p or thereabouts would be a lovely price. | varies
11/10/2015 09:15 | Got a document from Silanis in the post. The Silanis Group is being merged into one before selling up. The offer doc is due on 27th Oct, may be clearer then. No choice but to request a share certificate, there will be a blizzard of forms. But quite hopeful of a decent payoff here. | russman
09/10/2015 10:23 | The "Group" has received a pukka offer of $85m. Still not sure if we will see any cash from the Holding Co i.e a liquidation. Seems a bit weird moving from Jersey to Canada then possibly selling up. Must be a tax angle? | russman
17/9/2015 04:09 | I am going to find out the hard way. SNS off to Canada. AGM approved the transfer. | russman
28/8/2015 09:11 | Russman Thanks | varies
28/8/2015 09:11 | Russman Thanks | varies
28/8/2015 08:47 | No-one seems to know. I think that SNS will not apply to have shareholdings "managed" on an international registry so paper certificate is the only option for UK. But do not really know. | russman
21/8/2015 09:32 | Mine are held on nominee. I am checking but I do not think I have a choice. I think my nominee only holds in Crest. | russman
20/8/2015 11:41 | Russman I have been looking at the results too. They strike me as dreadful. My shares are held by Barclays Stockbrokers and I wonder if yours are held by nominees too. Given their paltry value, I am not minded to spend money getting mine put into my own name as suggested by the directors. What do you think ? | varies
20/8/2015 09:05 | Well not sure what the fuss was about. Disappointed sales did not rise more but that may be accounting policy for their contracts. Not sure why they did not fold the two companies together instead. Still investing into R&D, hope it pays off. | russman
30/7/2015 09:40 | I have found zilch corporate news. But they seem to be getting some decent contracts/markets. Not sure if they are making a profit, we await figures. Watch out for the curveball. | russman
26/7/2015 08:58 | Yes - early August. I cannot find any news apart from SNS signing up some decent customers. Ideas:- They are going to short change the minorities. They need more funding. They are selling up. (US Tech valuations are sky high) We understood these risks. | russman
25/7/2015 20:37 | Russman Matt's answer to my latest enquiry was that the results would be available early in August. Did he say the same to you ? Since we are without any powers in this matter, I feel that I can only hope for the best. | varies
21/7/2015 21:50 | Russman I think that you and I are only shareholders still following our ill-fated investment here. In answer to my enquiry about the accounts for 2014 the CFA, Matt Lane, wrote to me on 21 May to say that the audit was nearly complete and that Silanis planned to release the results to shareholders by the end of June. Spurred on by your posting I have now sent him a reminder. | varies
21/7/2015 20:35 | Annual Report is later than usual. | russman |
