Another set of good H1 results, this time from CRH, a FTSE100-listed manufacturer of building supplies.

"Based on current trading conditions and the positive momentum that we see across our markets, we expect second-half Group EBITDA to be ahead of a record prior year."

Good H1 results from Grafton (building supplies) this morning with revenues up 46%, profit before tax up 340%.

"The recovery in housebuilding in the UK is expected to continue and to be sustained beyond the ending of the stamp duty holiday in September supported by good demand at a time when the stock of new houses for sale is low."

Kingspan (KGP) have reported a strong first half with revenues up 41% and eps up 66%, albeit against a weak 2020 H1 when revenues dropped 8% from H1 2019.

They warn of "unprecedented and ongoing raw material inflation" but so far have been able to pass on price increases to customers:

"Growth in the first half of the year has been remarkably strong with revenue and trading profit at record levels driven by high levels of demand and a global recovery in the construction sector. Despite inflation in our input costs, effective price management has helped increase trading margins, with a stand out performance in our largest division - insulated panels."

Yes basic materials supply sand and cement is an issue but has been going on now for few weeks...maybe the suppliers are deliberately slowing down supply to push prices up...what happened to lumber (wood) in the USA...last few weeks big bottled water is an issue to supermarkets...
