Usually first week of July (4th in 2018, 5th in 2019, from memory) -- last year there was a trading update along with the capital raise in June. Imminently anyway.

As always ZHO, many thanks for your excellent detective work.

I don't want you feeling you are alone in this thread. :-)

Does anyone have any clue as to when we should expect our next trading update?

"According to the latest Builders Merchants Building Index (BMBI) report, builders’ merchants’ value sales to builders, roofers and contractors remained strong in April, with Landscaping and Timber & Joinery Products leading the field."

Comparisons with April 2019, a pre-pandemic year ... show sales were up by 22.1%.

Encouraging TU from KGP, with H1 sales 40% higher than H1 2020 (when sales dipped due to CV-19 lock down) but still 29% higher than H1 2019. Trading profits are expected to be 58% higher than H1 2020, 37% higher than H1 2019.

>>What caused the drop from 64p in the first place?>>

I think the big picture is that over the past 3 or 4 weeks there has been a rotation out of value/reflation trades/cyclicals back into growth.

This is shown in a graph from John Auther's piece on Friday:

Edit: But there may be concerns over supply chain problems as well.

It rather looks to me as if SHI is starting to roll over especially on the daily chart and now looking that way on the weekly chart. I still like aspects of the recovery story but it seems to me that the price got a little extended and hence the profit-taking. May well look to get back in at the sub-'50s if that price continues to drop.

Looks like more bad news for NMCN, is having a effect on the share price recently

Very sad situation at NMCN. It is hard to understand how a company that had £26m net cash at Dec-19 and £33m net cash at end of Dec-18, now according to the trade press is looking for a £50m loan in order to keep going.

Britain's construction sector is growing at its fastest rate in almost seven years amid a surge in residential work and commercial building.

The closely watched construction purchasing managers' index showed output growth in May hit the highest level since September 2014, at a reading of 64.2.

This was up from 61.6 in April, and the fourth consecutive month of construction growth – any reading above 50 indicates expansion.

Good news or bad?

"Travis Perkins Plc has told customers to prepare for higher prices of its building materials, the Times reported.

"The U.K. building-goods supplier expects cement prices to increase 15%, chipboard 10% and paint 5%, the Times said. The warning follows a Bank of England forecast that inflation will rise above its 2% target, breaching 2.5% by the end of the year before tailing off."
