What he means is: would you (if you were the family\owner) put out a strong trading update if your intention was to buy all of the shares?

The smiths have further reduced the free float. Will help support further rises.

Now it makes sense. The lack of detail in the results. The lack of numbers to help figure out the outlook.

I wonder who owns the other 50% of those two vehicles that bought shares for the Smiths.

idrive - That's possible but why would anyone want to?

Windjammer - Good point!

Well it's currently very cheap and the flavour of the markets at the moment is get out of growth stocks and into value so I assume this is a great candidate for a bit of a rally. Long term I agree it's not the best of businesses but investing successfully isn't just about buying the best business at any price.

Please can someone enlighten me here!

I just don't see what there is to get excited about. Short of a buy out offer from someone like Mike Ashley.

Apart from the covid hiccup the turnover has been flat for donkeys years. So has profit., eps and now they have debt.

It appears to be run by two brothers who have over 50% of shares.

I'm always keen to know more and be corrected, but.......

Where's the story?

Certainly looks that way Croots. Also, I guess they couldn't buy until after the results release on 18th May, so they haven't wasted any time!!
