"Accordingly, the Shire Directors intend to recommend unanimously that Shire Shareholders vote in favour of the Scheme at the Court Meeting and the resolutions to be proposed at the Shire General Meeting..."

"The Scheme Document will include further details of the Scheme, together with notices of the Court Meeting and the Shire General Meeting and the expected timetable, and will specify the action to be taken by Shire Shareholders. It is expected that the Scheme Document will be dispatched to Shire Shareholders in the fourth quarter of 2018."

So the approval vote will not even happen until Q4 2018 (or even later)?

Take a look at HEMO, Hemogenyx, who recently came to the market and are developing a new approach to bone marrow transplant proceedure. Compelling story, talented management/research team, blue chip collaboration partners, and Cornell University is a shareholder.

You would think, in the abscense of immigration, the government would heavily subsidise the making of babies?

Takeda's overseas ambitions.

Did you know that the Japanese population shrinks by 1000 people a day and that more adult nappies are sold than baby nappies?

From comment section:

"It's a bit more than 1,000 a day. In 2017 the number of deaths exceeded the number of births by 403,000. The total fertility rate was 1.42 (It has been below replacement level of 2.1 every year since 1974.) Also in 2017 the percentage of the population aged 65 or over reached  27.4% while that of those aged 15 and under fell to 12.4%. So there are now more than twice as many pensioners as there are children."

That is, quite frankly - staggering. In 2017, 1 in 4 Japanese was over 65.

Yeah, expect some moves up like the last 15 mins where an institution comes on board.

Ha - love that line from Munger. And the "wealth is transferred from the impatient to the patient" - Not always true of course but often is.

Mbmiah, this will be a good test of your patience. It's the difference between a great investor and an OK investor.

Considering lightening up around 44 - 45.

Think that should be the short term target, all considered.

Be good to have a timetable around voting, and the rest.

Hopefully see that come out very soon.

All good here, looking forward to 4400+ soon

Right off to the beach, late spring glorious weather in Sardegna, hardly any tourists, just a few locals on the mostly deserted beaches, roads a delight, little traffic, why do so many go in July/August?

Almost certain to be no hike - if on the unlikely chance there is a surprise it would only be to the upside for sterling.
