Afternoon all.
Fwiw, just moved out of BARC. If it maintains momentum, I'll buy an equivalent amount on a spread bet. Just got a feeling the market might pull back a bit from here, but the trend is still your friend........

Glad you enjoyed it El C - I hope/assume you saw episode 1 from Series 1?
Think you will remained intrigued as the episodes progress.
Some critics say that the 3rd series was a series too much but I completely disagree. Ironic that following the last episode that a story re a CIA operative left hung out to dry for seven years in Iran broke..

286 = The Daily SMA 200.

It has resistance at a trendline and then a fib to get through first.

I look forward to your cable thoughts.

Afternoon all.

Babywolf - no, I'm still holding BARC. Trade is in the money, but I'm actually looking for 286.
274 would have been a good exit point for a day trade, but I'm happy to hold BARC longer term. I've had some divi since my purchase, so comfortable to stay with it. I'll keep a close eye on things in the New Year, because I think that retail and financials are likely to suffer a bit. Having said that, I don't think they'll want the FTSE or DOW to tank, so to keep it stable, they might just start pumping up the resource stocks, in which case, Mrs. P will owe me big time.
Gold is getting hammered at the moment, but I'm not panicking there, because the charts on the longer time frames just show that "they" are gunning for the last low. If it bounces from there, I think it will rally.
Got some thoughts on Cable, and AUD/USD, but need to look at the charts year end.

Have a great New Year all, from both me and the monkey.

Having listened to part of that 'song' you posted I find myself deaf.

Good day Babywolf

Pleased to read you are having a pleasant time away from the trials and tribulations of normal life.

Would we have thought this time last year that the market would be at current levels ?

So where will it be this time next year ? I will leave that for the profound thoughts of Penycae and monkey.

Dangerous. This market rides roughshod over profound thoughts unless they are for a rise to infinity.

Ref BARC - It appears to have reached your target.

I wish you and monkey well for 2014 and look forward to your trading thoughts.

I know what you mean about liking the flat. You are currently associating it with all the problems, give it time and the feeling will gradually go.

During the three years the items were in storage did you miss them ? Depending on your answer you know what to do.

Given that you have a damning reprt the offending contractor should if he has any sense pay up and avoid court costs.

Ref Homeland

I don't watch it so can't comment.

As for security services, irrespective of country, I believe they do whatever they deem necessary whether it is legal or not. Of course politicians prefer not to know but tacitly approve it.

Hi Bracke

Re storing items - I'm not sure, having done this whole renovation, if I actually like the flat!! Sad but true and am hoping its because its been the cause of so much hassle and this feeling will dissipate. My things have been in storage for 3 years!! I mistakenly thought back then that if I was a buyer with nothing to sell, I would get a better deal. Didn't happen. Will never do that again ie going forward, I would always simultaneously sell and buy somewhere new - no squatting at friends/paying storage/wondering if what I find to buy will measure up to what I sold.

Re the new contractor being witness for the old - I did better - the Treatex rep did an onsite visit and wrote a damning report, stating his professional view of the work the rip-off contractor carried out.

Thanks for the BARC chart!

Off topic (really? this thread off topic??)
I am still affected by the closing episode of 'Homeland' from last night.
I don't know if you or you El C are a fan but having flirted with Damian Lewis a few years ago, I am. Pretty sad finale last night and if realistic re the CIA, depressing!

Thank you - let us hope 2014 will be a happy one!
