Interesting that SHG has been bid up again towards the close. It seems that we have morning downs and late ups these days. I'm beginning to think that the UK market actually wants to go down but it is catching a bid from across the pond. The US market is pretty inflated currently made even worse when you consider the quality of the earnings and the levels of debt. But it wants to go up.....

Must remember not to confuse resource with reserve. It is the resource that is over 1m oz rather than the reserve. The reserves combined with recovery rates determine the mine life/production as they define the economic viability at a given gold price.

How long will it take for Singida to start producing gold?... It should be less than 2 years, I think.

At the end of 2020, PoG is predicted over $2000 and Shanta has zero hedging... Net profit will be massive

Whilst the headline is mine life until 2024, given the resources and the historical conversion rate of those to reserves I would not be too concerned about this. As has been said, the drill results have been excellent and these should feed into a continued replenishment of the resources/reserves. I continue to have more concern about the VAT being withheld!

REDHILL, yes sorry 4 years mine life left. Plus lots of lower grade stuff that could become economic if gold stays high?

I think what's needed is tangible results. We can all see the potential upside, but I think some of it needs to actually happen before Shanta regains trust. Hopefully in the very very near future many of the black marks will be gone.
Once it's on an even keel, I'd quite like to see a merger or acquisition. A few gold miners seem to suffer from the risk of lack of geographic diversification. I think combined they would be greater that the sum of its parts. Who knows, maybe next year it could happen.

There is at least 4 years mine life left at NL with no doubt further extensions to come.

I have to say that I'm more a half cup full person here. The fact they haven't published the new NLGM reserves and resources apart. I think the NLGM drill returns have looked v good; they have more than replaced depletion; Debt is almost gone; Singida with gold price maintaining $1600 - $1700 level is looking good; West Kenya is a possible game changer for the medium-long term. IMO extremely undervalued :).

Realistically ; SHG past may be coming to haunt them. Current management excluded, they have been completely unreliable, saying one thing doing another. NLGM have only 2/3 years lifeline left (Unless extended) and they have to pay off debt, clear the hedge etc etc. NLGM is the only thing you can count on....bird in hard theory.

Singida and Kenya not producing anything and million things can go wrong with them (I hope it doesn't). Hence the current price.....imho.

Rogue I've not seen any update and the effect of the exploration shouldn't be underestimated. Eric has mentioned it in recent presentations, but slightly worrying that companies usually give an update on every positive drill. They've doubled the exploration spend this year and no news yet.
Extending the mine life at Luika would be a very big black mark removed. Right now I think there's a couple of years left at Luika with mining at Singida and Kenya probably 3 years away?

On December 16th, Shanta published an NLGM Exploration update with what looked very promising drill intercepts. They stated in that RNS that,‘The results of this drilling campaign will be incorporated into an updated Mineral Reserve & Resource Estimate which is expected to be released in early 2020'.

In the Q4 Results RNS on January 16th they presented upgraded reserves and resource figures for the latest drilling campaign, but not restated figures for the whole of the NLGM asset. As part of the Q4 RNS they stated “Results of the latest drilling campaign will be incorporated into an updated Mineral Reserve & Resource Estimate expected to be released in early 2020.”

In the RNS February 28th for the Full Year Results 2019, I can’t see any mention of the ‘updated Mineral Reserve & Resource Estimate’ being published. Am I missing something? as I don’t believe this has yet been published despite being due in ‘early 2020'? I was expecting a separate formal RNS specifically on the upgraded NLGM reserves and resources, this has not happened to date.

GGP's valuation is ridiculous compared to any other gold company on the market that I am familiar with. I find it hard to understand why anyone would invest at that level.

SHG is currently afflicted with two selling institutions, hence the struggle here, although the looks of other gold companies the sector is taking a bit of a breather. The 'sea of red' is actually a mixture of sells and buys below the mid price.

GGP has seen amazing increases over the last year but it's a little unfair to compare other investments to that. Shantas performance over the last 12 months is not to be sniffed that and many investors would dream of seeing a 50% increase over the past year.
I think what GGP shows is that a stream of good news and low liquidity can result in massive increases.

I sometimes wonder why I’m invested here ,it’s another sea of red again today,a lot of the posts seem positive ,can’t make out whether it’s a good or bad share to be in ,GGP has done wonders fo me ,and I think there is a lot more to come ,good luck
