22/5/2020 15:06 | Yes i believe a poster called fairdeal introduced me to Shanta a while before production started.Remember the dizzy heights of 40p and the lows below 4p. Lots of names i remember who occasionally post since the early days. Just noticed Pingu started this thread in August 10 so it must be about 12 years i've been waiting. | redhill
22/5/2020 14:49 | I quite like the hedge decision, sure they got it wrong this time, but it demonstrates a cautious mindset that is usually lacking in this area... | zcaprd7
22/5/2020 14:17 | Andyp, what's the source of your information on the West Kenya deposit? I have searched through the investor presentations and don't see anything approaching these numbers. | lowtrawler
22/5/2020 13:37 | Redhill/QS - yep, my first purchase was in July 2009 - I've bought at prices from 4.8p all the way up to 36p and did actually top-slice a few at 40p in Feb 2012, but am still sitting tight on well over a million shares. I don't post much any more but sit quietly at the back and check in from time to time. Having held on through the dark ages, I've no intention of selling any time soon - ten years ago, I told my kids that I would retire when Shanta hits £1 - since then, the kids have left home and I'm still working. Still underwater on my investment here, but feeling optimistic for the next 48 months. Keep pushing for 48p, QS - that'll do me for another top-slice! All the best to patient longs . . . | lombiff
22/5/2020 13:19 | Blimey mate, that's perseverance for you! Think I can't be too far off that either to be fair. Hoping that 2020 will be the trans-formative year.....you could argue that SHG should merge after Kenya deal with other East African or West African small miners, keep getting that geographical spread and scale that miners need....one for the next 3 years | qs99
22/5/2020 13:17 | QS99 Would you believe i have had some sort of holding for at least the last 8 years ! | redhill
22/5/2020 13:05 | Indeed, hence the patience being shown by likes of 338, Redhill and me with this bloody share haha.....at least having topped up at 4-5p, the average in is now super low....DYOR | qs99
22/5/2020 12:51 | Bottom line cashflow and profit for West Kenya in the year wouldn't be far away from our current market capitalisation if those numbers are correct. | lowtrawler
22/5/2020 11:43 | It is unclear to me exactly what the status is of the Kenyan asset. Time consumers for development are often things that are outside of the control of the company, the main one being permits. But they also need to ensure that the pit shell is optimised (well, the grades they are talking here a little bit of suboptimal is probably not a killer!) before digging. That said, bringing into production an open pit with such high grade in a gold bull market should probably warrant a fair amount of attention. | jc2706
22/5/2020 10:44 | Singida news in the next few weeks should be good, but I think West Kenya sounds like a dream project. 135,000 oz at 1.3 oz per tonne - wow wow wow Just this open-pit could very quickly pay for the whole of the new mine Only about 100,000 tonnes to be mined which could easily be done in a year. This would produce $230m in gold sales at 1700POG!!!! However even with these amazing numbers I would prefer to avoid taking on huge amounts of debt ($100m plus) and the associated risks. I would prefer a staged ramp up and expansion funded by cashflow and serviceable debt levels. If this pit is for real then I wouldn't wait 3 years to start. I would set up a small ish operation ($20m) to start mining it ASAP to help build up local knowledge expertise etc. | andypar
22/5/2020 10:22 | Needs that newsflow now me thinks.....Roll on June then! | qs99
22/5/2020 10:09 | Hopefully the Kenya's deal can be completed in June... Shanta should be able to pay in full by now | 338
22/5/2020 09:52 | Need new news really to move this higher now | qs99
21/5/2020 18:57 | Bit of selling when the gold price dropped ,thats all. | redhill
21/5/2020 17:33 | Quite keen on this but it's a bit off putting seeing all the selling going on! | 32campomar
21/5/2020 16:37 | !.5 in your dreams . This is a bore | juju44
21/5/2020 15:57 | £1.50p means I can retire.....thanks 338 for reminding me of your rocket dream mate! | qs99
21/5/2020 15:46 | Also the vat will suddenly get sorted after the deal as gone through | chestnuts
21/5/2020 15:17 | 48p... then 150p... 😁 | 338
21/5/2020 15:11 | I think the reason the share price is being held here is because of the Kenya deal as the day it was announced the share price was 11.5p and seen as part of the deal is in shares Barrick won’t want a dilution so once the deal goes through the share price will rise dramatically | chestnuts
21/5/2020 14:27 | Break 15p and I'll have broken even... it's been a long haul! | goodgrief
21/5/2020 13:49 | About 2 metres away ? | redhill
21/5/2020 13:04 | So what you're saying snotra is that the hedge will be extinguished by the end of the year maybe sooner and hopefully the share price will breakthrough 12 soon and then we'll away?.... | plentymorefish
21/5/2020 13:02 | "Hedge will be extinguished by the end of the year maybe sooner". 3 mins ishhttps://youtu.be/ | snotra
21/5/2020 12:59 | Sorry duplicate | snotra |
