Nice solid base in mid to high 130s being built now. The lack of director buys does make me pretty hopeful there's a deal in the offing; and perhaps has been for some time; as they missed out on buying in the low 100s after the disappointing well result (which was a very obvious time for some director buys). Here's hoping!

News from yesterday:

"Maersk Drilling bags £6.2m contract for Columbus well
by Mark Lammey
31/10/2019, 8:53 am

Maersk Drilling has won a £6.2 million contract with Serica Energy for a development well at the Columbus field in the central North Sea.

Work is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2020, with an estimated duration of 70 days.

The harsh environment jack-up rig to be used for the job has yet to be assigned.

London-listed Serica received approval for the Columbus project from the Oil and Gas Authority a year ago.

Serica aims to start production from the 13.4m barrel field in the second quarter of 2021, with output reaching 7,800 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day at peak.

The project will involve a single well connected to a planned pipeline between Arran and Shell’s Shearwater platform.

Serica is the operator of Columbus with a 50% interest.

Its partners are Tailwind Energy and Waldorf Production, with 25% each."

Inmo any takeover/merger would be welcome now if there was a decent premium not involving garden plants

I would have thought a hostile take over could be difficult with 36% of the shares being held by Jeffery Harris (ex director), David Hardy, BP and SQZ directors. The remainder seem to be quite tightly held by the likes of us.

All I can say up. Lets hope they don't get too preoccupied with hostels / geranobibiums and forge works via Sheffield before looking at the next acquisition

Yes Tain and Serenity complicates RRE if Andy were thinking of going for Shearwater. Let's hope he isn't thinking of coming for us.

I was wondering the same after the Bear raised Bountys abscence on the RRE thread.
Glad to hear he is ok.

Hi guys just a quick heads up on bounty as I had small text from him.
He has a few issues at the moment that means he cannot get to the free bb too much but thanks everyone for asking after him and will hopefully be back soon(ish)!

Cheers all.

Hands up, I sold my out my 2 stakes (2207) yesterday for 142.2. For a small profit. I'm relatively new to SQZ, I've been around about 6 months. I had my sell value and I sold.

In the mean time I've been taking in everything SQZ and will be looking to get back in.

I really like the look of what they're doing.

I'll try not to 'talk my game', but hopefully I'll be back on the next unreasonable dip.

I love the crowd on here by the way. Keep on keeping on.

The good thing is that our paper is also valued by the market so we may not have to pony up all the cash ,particularly if BP let Shearwater go in exchange for a cash and shares deal. After all BP have roughly 6 bagged on the shares they acquired in the Erskine deal.
imho

I expect to see some late large buy orders later on , not worried about any future deals , the shrewdness and expertise that the company has exhibited in the past is a great comfort it appears to be a buyers market and I feel sure that they will not do a bum deal.

A sell volume five times greater than buy volume yet we bounce back up to our closing price of yesterday ???, also I notice the ask does not move that much lower so you still have to pay a decent price.

Hopefully we will hear something further prior to year end it certainly make for a merry old Christmas if SQZ can pull off another BKR style deal.

Assuming the 35k boepd from Zennor by 2023 is largely self funded, it actually fits in quite well. I don't think the top line figure of $750m is quite what anyone would pay for it, either. It's a buyer's market, the NS, being a mature province. Is it too much to ask for both BP's Shearwater share and the Zennor acquisition? The fact Sericas name has been dropped isn't a coincidence as I'm sure you're all aware.A funding package granted off the back of say, a 16 month OFAC extension so Serica can fund expansion without shareholder dilution...
