Personally I feel the share has treaded water for a while partly due to Mitch intimating earlier in the year about other deals and possible other companies using our facilities but as yet nothing. One year.

The recent results were excellent but were not interesting at all in the outlook.

I rate these shares and the management and look forward to the next few years.

Good luck

I do wonder what the reaction would be if we were able to buy out the IOC share of Rhum.

Correct quemaster - in a similar vein, BP were undergoing "Europeanisation" of much of the Rhum-related equipment on Bruce following the 2014 restart of Rhum - this has continued under Serica and I believe they are now in a position where they have sourced non-US equivalents for 99.9% of operations, "just-in-case".

From what I know to what I've read and what I understand - I continue to have zero fears related to SQZ's co-ownership of Rhum with IOC.

Hopefully not jinxing the issue but i,m not concerned about the renewal at all. If it was going to be refused they would have done so last year . If we have met all the conditions subsequently this year then there is absolutely no reason it won't be forthcoming.
I.m hoping we get some nervous nellies selling so i can get some really cheap trading shares in the run up to the issue date.
imho

I seem to remember Serica moving a couple of people arround last year so there were no US nationals involved in Rhums operations.

Also, assuming that it is to be or has been granted, does it justify an RNS? I would imagine that it is news if it is a problem, not if it is business as usual.

I don't really understand why there is so much negativity on LSE regarding the OFAC waiver and why there's so much consternation at its supposed delay. On the first point, many people are incorrectly equating the OFAC license as necessary when in actuality it's purely a mechanism that allows Serica to have access to American companies and equipment should the need arise. Anyone who's done any kind of corporate ethics training knows what I'm on about. The US law states that US companies and employee's can't do business with sanctioned entities (Cuba, North Korea) etc. OFAC can't shut Rhum down, only limit American firms access to it - and even then, the conditions for the license have been met and maintained so any scaremongering around renewal is exactly that.On the second, BPs OFAC license ran Oct-Oct. Sericas runs Nov-Nov, so I wouldn't go looking for any waiver news until November, specifically the 5th as that's when it was issued last year.
