Bounty...but don't you think an aquisition would add more than 2-3% to our investment?

Winter 2019 is still over 50p/therm

CFC - I agree with your comments, but with $100m in the bank and the forecast cashflows going forward it's nice to have the option of a further aquisition (most likely) or a maiden divi which could cost a mere fraction of the cashflow. I wouldn't even rule out both if a divi was at a very modest level, i.e. just an inflation beating 2-3% yield say. For example 2.5% yield would cost less than $1m/month which is not a lot compared to the current and forecast cashflows. Maybe a little to early and one for next year though.

Wonder though. I wouldn't put it past Andy to take the Hardys up to a high place.. Still nowhere near thirty percent even then.

upomega probably anyone with a outlook longer than a month or two is not to worried about a short term blip in the gas price. You would think gas is probably going to head higher as we head in to October and the winter months. Also while the price is lower production is significantly higher from both BKR and Erskine which will help offset the lower gas price. SQZ's BKR production hedges at 35p a therm are looking a smart move.

bounty while a maiden divi would be nice I very much expect to see another deal first. There seem to be a few hints that somethings on the cards.

Is there any precedent time wise to when a maiden divi would be announced?

Also I very much enjoyed TCW presentation "50 years in the north sea a personal journey" particularly some of the aspects of value creation.

We have mentioned it prior but after reading the presentation and being mindful of the calibre of the recent additions to the bod it feels to me that SQZ will be looking to pull off another BIG deal.

Also has anyone a view as to the worst case scenario to where gas will level out. Also any thoughts re possible merger with rockrose.
In my view what ever happens now is that with a 100 million in the bank the company can bide its time. Even if they just break even until prices recover

So the cashpile by now is likely to be about 25% of the market cap ($420m). If not used to secure a further aquisition (which it probably will be imho) then there is the possibility of a maiden divi.

Yes a bit cryptic ;-)
I remember that time well suffering to a lesser extent with a holding in Lloyds plunging following their disastrous acquisition of HBOS.

Hmm. Mine saved half her earnings in a SAYE contract in the company she worked for and eventually built up a holding in that company worth £125000. For years she squirrel ed away money she couldn't afford and for a time received a div of nearly five grand a year.Sadly, that company she slaves away for morning noon and night was RBSRBS and as we all know that was far worse that being ranged. If ever I find a gun in the street I know whose name is on every bullet that comes with it.and she got Goo

I've often felt sitting on your hands and not selling is really quiet hard the temptation to take profits due to lack of excitement is undeniably high. You could always try trading round the edges of main holdings a few free shares here an there mount up and adds a bit of excitement. SQZ having offered a few good opportunities recently.

With most of my large holdings the sell decision has been made for me due to company buy outs with majority of gains made from just a handful of companies held for periods between 2 and 10 years.

Interestingly I was looking at some paper work for my other half today who received some free Whitbread shares having joined an incentive plan while working as waitress in the pub where we first met in the early 1990's. They were only worth a few quid back then but with divi reinvested the pot has grown and are worth over 5k now!

Dh why dont u just pile back in.? we ...forget I think we will acquire another deal I'm not looking for a buyout or merger ...I would like to see the company use their monthly income for good use so an acquisition is my choice
