Oh, sorry guys, this thread isn't on my favorites list and I didn't see your question. Sorry about that. The rumour was that Boeing were in discussion with Senior to buy them. However, as I stated here, the director dealings at the time would have made that illegal. Very likely to have been started by a fund manager trying to create a market for selling stock. CFB

Yes I heard the Boeing rumour but it must be false as there were director dealings on 7th August that would be illegal. CFB

Ehiopian Airlines received Africa's first Boeing (NYSE: BA - news) 787 Dreamliner on Friday, making Ethiopia the only country aside from Japan (EUREX: FMJP.EX - news) to operate the innovative aircraft. "As a continent this shows how much we are making progress as Africans... competing on the global stage and changing our image," Ethiopian Airline CEO Tewolde Gebremariam told reporters at Addis Ababa's Bole International Airport. The plane arrived from Dulles airport in Washington, DC, home to the largest Ethiopian diaspora population globally. State-owned Ethiopian Airlines -- Africa's fastest growing carrier -- has purchased ten 787 Dreamliners from Boeing. Each has an official list price of some $207 million, although airlines rarely pay such figures, especially for bulk orders. It is expected to operate the aircraft on routes throughout Africa and Europe (Chicago Options: ^REURUSD - news) , including Accra, Lagos, Rome and London. Tewolde said the delivery of the Dreamliner, dubbed "Africa First," is an achievement for all of the continent. The aircraft is constructed with lightweight carbon, as opposed to heavy aluminium found on other planes, consuming 20 percent less fuel. Transport Minister Deriba Kuma said the delivery of the 787 was especially notable given the financially strained climate. "This achievement of Ethiopian Airlines is all the more remarkable given the very bad global context for the airline industry," he said. Despite the fanfare at the landing ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn said the country expects greater achievements from the airline in the future. "My people and my government are expecting to see Ethiopian Airlines as one of the best airlines in the world, not only in Africa," said Hailemariam, who is also Foreign Minister

Extract of upbeat outlook at Meggitt (MGGT) as expressed today in their Company statement concerning near future of world's aerospace industry: ".....Suppliers to the civil aerospace sector have been boosted by order book growth at Airbus and Boeing, who expect combined deliveries for 2012 to be well ahead of last year. The world's top two planemakers are ramping up output and are targeting more than 1,100 deliveries this year, in response to growing demand from airlines for new fuel-efficient planes......."

Took advantage of the pullback to dip a toe in here. Been on my watchlist for a while, but was just waiting the right price. Agree with mazarin, good results in a struggling economy.

It's a pity that SNR happens to be reporting on a day when the wider market is 'spooked' yet again over Eurozone worries about Greeece and Spain's debt crisis. Even so, today's half yearly results do provide an 'encouraging outlook' with the Company reporting 20% increase in adjusted profit before tax and announcing an increased Interim Dividend (as proposed at 1.38p) as well as also reporting an 18% decrease in net debt. In my view these have got to be considered very good results in the current grim economic climate?

Looking a bit quiet here lately and note a few more 'clicks up' in right direction (£1.80 at present and rising steadily), hopefully a sign of things to come. 6 month's Trading results due 23/07/12
