Hi Phil, it's unfortunate timing, they increased CAPEX to meet the expected extra demand and the MAX fatalities struck. There is a chunk of debt here but that looks manageable. Might prefer Bodycote tbh, which is debt free, but that has exposure to the car and light truck market which is very weak atm. I notice the CFO's other half bought recently, a fair chunk as well. Their share price is very volatile though. Think MRO offers some very nice longer term upside fwiw, better to get some on a bad day though.

Morning EI. Still got it on the watchlist. I'm just wondering if all the bad news is priced in. All depends on this 737 exposure. Very difficult to find much information. Senior should have a trading statement out in about six weeks. Still only really got this Barclays note to go by from a few months ago.. "..Barclays does, however, expect Senior’s Max production to fall to a Boeing/ Spirit blended rate of 47 planes per month shortly, which will dent sales this year and next. As a result, the chin scratchers have cut their sales forecasts for 2019 and 2020 by £8mln and £35mln, respectively. They have also lowered their 2020 Aerospace margin target due to overhead cost absorption. “We expect this to be the fourth consecutive year Senior has failed to deliver late-cycle, material Aerospace margin progression–a long-standing bear point. “On our revised numbers, we are 180bps below the FY21 margin target of 13-14% which now appears unachievable, in our view.”

This has held up better than I would have expected, wonder if this is because of bid speculation?.

Thanks.Thought the drop couldn't have been all down to broker downgrade.

Was looking at this and it would appear that more bad news for 737 Max is the most likely reason for the drop. I've had this on my monitor for a while but I think we need to see 737 Max production restart to ensue a durable rise.

All I can find is Barclays downgrade to equal weight and reduced to 210.

I see from the agm RNS that they have passed a resolution to 'purchase own shares', does this mean that they will do 'share buy backs'?

Since Rollins left in 2015 it hasn't looked as strong but in fairness to the BOD there has been a lot of macro headwinds, plus the sector is to a degree cyclical.

Completely agree.Bought these about 7 years ago for 194 and made decent profit. Just kicking myself for missing the recent low around the same level. Will keep a closer eye on it.

A buy on a long term basis, 5 years plus, the current price is relatively attractive. If you are astute/lucky enough to buy in the depths of a bear market, your returns on a stock like Senior can be dramatically enhanced. The very long term chart where you can look at the share price over the last 30 years, underscores this point. The share price has been hammered in the last 3 downturns, followed by incredible % increases. It may develop differently next time, but would expect something along similar lines - just my take.

I guess today is due to Boeing downgrade and 737 issues.

I bought shares in their 1993 RI for Flexonics, a long time ago!. personally think they should exit that division, sold the French business recently. Boeing production is 52 aircraft monthly from Seattle, the majority now thought to be 737 Max. Prior to this incident there was talk of potentially increasing units from June 19.

Think this may be a reaction to Ford news of cutting 5,000 jobs in Germany and UK.Their flexonics was always likely to be the elephant in the room for 2019.

Well something very fundamental changes if production of the Max is halted (for any length of time) currently Boeing are keeping to schedule from my understanding. SNR have invested heavily in CAPEX as per the comments at the FY results. So would expect there is high operational gearing here?.
