As most thought and expected, the buyback is having little effect. Still it supports the sellers and increases NAV slightly. It's all down to sentiment, and that will need something big to change the years and years of looking after themselves and their mates, and not giving a ........ about investors

Today we're seeing investors take positions, some taking early profits as you'd expect. I'm expecting a gradual rise once the buyback commences. Not a bad rise so far though in the run-up and no doubt more to come. Max buyback could be 25% of shares, so a long way for this to travel over the coming weeks and months.

Reminder that there's a SEED Investor Meet session tomorrow at 10am. It will be recorded and investors' pre-submitted questions are to be answered.by the BOD.Well the question about buyback has been answered already, look forward to the share price responding to this shortly.

errr....zero....never going to happen. I've seen it happen a few times over the years with real funds that had a huge discount for a long period. Liquidate the fund to release value, to then go and start again. Imagine Ed liquidating and then asking investors for money...lollolllhahhahh. He's not even a fund manager, how is he here £150k for an hour or so each month

RNS this morning regarding further investment into Clean Food Group:
“ Commenting on the collaboration, Ed McDermott, CEO of Seed said:
"It is very exiting that CFG, which is at the forefront of food innovation, has added another respected food industry partner to its list of investors. CFG's mission ethos is to provide healthier, sustainable, and competitively priced functional oils and fats solutions to the world's food and cosmetics manufacturers. We see this investment and collaboration as another key enabler towards this mission, one that aids CFG's near term growth aspirations; to deliver scale of its bio equivalent food oils such as Palm oil."
Prior to this capital raise SEED owned 5,850,000 ordinary shares in Clean Food Group representing 5.4% and it intends to participate in the current fund raise.”

Proactive Cannabis Article
Proactive have a feature on the major revival this year for Cannabis stocks and SEED gets a mention as the only way into Northern Leaf and it’s possible IPO:

: Cultivating a market

Focused on cannabis in its most natural form, London investors currently have direct access to two cultivators, Celadon and Hellenic Dynamics.

A possible third, Northern Leaf, raised €3mln in funding earlier this year in preparation for a potential London listing and has an application for EU accreditation apparently in the late stages.

Until its floats, investors can currently gain access via SEED Innovations Ltd (AIM:SEED, OTC:FFRIF), an investment company with a portfolio of holdings in cannabis and CBD firms.

London-headquartered Celadon grows medical cannabis from an indoor hydroponic facility, which is thought to be the first to gain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for cannabis high in delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) from the UK medical regulator since the legalisation of medical cannabis.

Any investors around the turn of the year have enjoyed significant rewards, with the shares tripling after the grower gained approval for the commercial sale of its product in March.”

Interesting to note that these long term shareholders some of whom paid over 15p are still sharing our pain:
Investors: Number of Percentage of Share
Ordinary Shares Capital
Peter Saladino 17,194,590 8.08%
Jim Mellon 14,783,722 6.95%
Norbert Teufelberger 7,205,005 3.39%
Richard Hackett 7,122,952 3.35%

The decks are clear all the bad news is out there and written off. The remaining investments look promising and SEED has £2.5 million in the bank. Ed now has skin in the game with a2.2% shareholding. It is now time for the Board to earn their salaries, invest the cash wisely and address the problem of the massive discount to NAV. Perhaps they could commit that if they haven’t got the discount down to below 20% in the next 12 months, they will distribute the second Payment from Leap circa £2.5 million to shareholders as a special dividend.

A fair and reasonable result would be to liquidate the fund. It is at a huge discount due to sentiment. I wouldn't expect it to achieve anywhere near a reasonable discount to NAV in the near term. The NAV is currently in the region of 8p, even if the NAV climbed to 12p in the future, I would still expect that the discount to NAV would remain huge and more than likely nowhere near the possible 7p that could be achieved from liquidation of assets. A lot of investors were banking on Leap to be the catalyst. There are a couple of big holdings that could give a decent gain, but with a history of investors being misled and extremely poor investment management over the years, who will buy and hold? Even if a big rise did appear, there are so many investors wanting to cash in, and I don't think there are many that would see this as a long term investment - as it should be as an investment trust. Trusts have been liquidated due to huge discounts to NAV in the past - as the BOD had stated it was in the best interests of investors to do so, which is what they are paid for - to look after shareholders.

Raised "from existing investors, the full management team, and new additional European investors via a convertible loan........SEED did not participate in this fundraise."Anyone know why SEED didn't participate?! Seems a great time to be investing in commercial cannabis enterprises?
