05/4/2019 11:42 | As a long term holder I have to say that I am tempted to sell for what would be a pretty decent profit but I dont see that the valuation is particularly stretched. | salpara111
04/4/2019 11:13 | All time high now. Recent results seem to have reassured. | deadly
17/12/2018 11:12 | ASOS warning has spooked the whole retail market. | woozle1
17/12/2018 10:45 | Nasty 16% drop on the open but now 'recovered' to about 6% down, which seems a normal move in the smaller companies these days. Anyone know what happened? | monty9
03/10/2018 12:47 | It's all in the price. Half the market cap is its own net cash (after deducting custy depos). 2.2x EV/EBITDA is just too low. Someone will buy this company soon and pay 5 times, which would be dirt cheap, too. | woozle1
02/10/2018 23:33 | Couple of reasons for the low rating in my mind: 1. Think the low rating partially reflects the fact they went bust in 2008. It is run much more cautiously now though with significant net cash and would survive another downturn as severe as 2008 if it were to happen again. 2. Given the potential damage that Brexit could cause I'm limiting my exposure to the UK economy, preferring UK listed companies that have significant dollar earnings. However the rating here is just too compelling given how well run the company is, to not continue to hold. Others may be less sanguine though. | dangersimpson2
02/10/2018 21:06 | Great income, and a Stocko Super stock. Double bottom on the chart, but maybe not that much excitement going forward in the share price? | brucie5
02/10/2018 13:58 | SCS has always traded on a very undemanding rating and paid a hefty divi. I have never really understood why. | salpara111
02/10/2018 12:47 | Agreed. To beat expectations, raise dividends & generate positive LfL in the current retail environment is impressive. Shows quality management trumps weather & sporting events. Today's muted rise just puts them back to where they were before the market started worry about the results. Trading on 6 x FCF looks unwarranted given today's results and outlook. | dangersimpson2
02/10/2018 11:21 | Very impressive results in the current retail environment! The only retail stock in my portfolio and happy to continue holding. | salpara111
09/8/2018 12:30 | gaiusgracchus Thanks, apreciate the input. I Will take an additional look at those and re-asses with my own calculations | thorpematt
08/8/2018 22:39 | Not the disaster that the valuation would suggest. Personally I had expected sales in the last period to be utterly dire. These numbers go right to the end of July and the weaather has been completley against. The headline PER here might suggest good value for a stock with low short-term growth predictions. But when you consider the cash pile, the EV / EBITDA ratio is ludicrously undervalued. I understand that growth prospects are not good in the forseeable but this is priced at daft levels. | thorpematt
08/8/2018 07:43 | Phew! I (and I suspect others) was expecting a dramatic drop! | woozle1
08/8/2018 07:23 | In line with management expectations. What are broker expectations? | typo56
30/7/2018 20:18 | And the House of Fraser concessions? | typo56
16/7/2018 19:58 | I reckon it will have cooled down by then :-/ | thorpematt
12/7/2018 12:11 | DFS hot weather warning today. I wonder what ScS will have to say next month. | typo56
19/6/2018 09:00 | All the sellers are lower down the food chain, who don't have big salaries and little understanding of equity. If David Knight, the CEO starts selling, that is a signal. | woozle1
18/6/2018 11:17 | What about all the insider sales in May? :( | gaiusgracchus
13/6/2018 20:31 | Did I miss something? Chart is looking extremly bullish.....all is very quiet here. | thorpematt
06/6/2018 11:55 | HoF closure should boost ScS profits. I was barely profitable. w1 | woozle1
06/6/2018 08:49 | House of Fraser....... 29 of its 59 shops are earmarked for closure | muffinhead
