There's probably a bit of that in it. Also tech companies have come off the top - SMT does have a lot of those. But the discount has definitely increased to relatively high levels for the stock. I'll probably be adding a few. but for me this is a 'hold till I retire' type IT.

NK104 I agree the discount to NAV is much larger than for quite a while. I have recently increased my holding and believe the share price decline is mainly due to the impasse in the US - China trade talks.

The performance since summer has been fairly dismal. Why has it done so poorly? Time to top up or bail out?

Discount now over 5 per cent. The pound may strengthen in the short term, but SMT is starting to look good. Discount is now greater than FCIT.

Jock - take the high-road. gale - never read so much Brexit tripe as yours on the EasyJet board. In my view, John Bercow is by far the worst ever Speaker of The House of Commons. It is on his watch that the HoC has descended into farce, pantomime and become inoperable and something which the UK public can now rightly be totally ashamed of. Bercow has allowed opposition parties to hijack Brexit and to use the Brexit debate as a vehicle and agenda to promote their own party politics, rather than addressing the central question at hand. In my opinion, Bercow has brought shame upon the House. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP

Re 741 QuePassa. I'm in agreement with your views on Bercow, but you're not going to win any friends or arguments with that attitude and by being so off topic. There are hundreds of BBs where you can vent your views on politics, so keep it relevant here please.

Que Passa - in my opinion you have brought shame to ADVFN. Please promote your foolish old people's Brexit on some other board.

Off topic warning... but I think the reason for HKSE wanting LSE is to try to get capital out of HK. Given the recent events in HK....don’t see a read across to positive China and SMT.

A £30billion bid by HK this morning to take over the LSE IS HARDLY A SIGN OF OVERSEAS INVESTORS BEING CONCERNED ABOUT BREXIT. Project Brexit Fear is more like Project Brexit Smear put about by those who do not wish to honour the clear 2016 democratic vote to leave. GO FOR IT BORIS. I do hope that BORIS highlights this massive overseas bid as an enormous sign of confidence by the overseas communities in the UK irrespective of the Brexit outcome. If the HK bid for the LSE goes forward, this is potentially OUTSTANDING NEWS for ScoMo given their China interests. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP

funny old world innit..... ....everyone says this is a ScoMo thread ....but since I stopped posting comprehensively about ScoMo after several years...this bulletin board and the ScoMo discussion have gone as flat as a pan-cake.. ..well, if people want to talk about ScoMo, let's hear your views, insights and opinions then.... ...because the silence has been truly deafening. oh... and by the way....i shall write what i want where i want...if i want to write about bookies odds here.....that is what i shall do
