There seems to be a lot of retail trade in this share, so why is the bulletin board so quiet? Is everybody bored of this company, or don't we get to know anything?

From Financial News. You’ve got to laugh when reducing loss of funds to “only” 2.5 billion per half can be thought of as a success! Schroders cuts net loss of institutional business to £2.5bn Mike Foster 2 Sep 2003 Schroders, the UK-listed fund management firm, has stemmed its loss of institutional business to £2.5bn (€3.6bn) in the half year to the end of June, down from total outflows of £4.4bn in the same period last year. The loss of UK business worth £1.8bn was primarily due to a loss of balanced mandates which comprise just 7% of group funds under management, far below the proportion registered five years ago. After taking account of retail funds, Schroders saw a net gain of business totalling £200m compared with an outflow of £2.3bn in the first half of 2002. The US business had outflows totalling £1.4bn, while in Continental European net business gains were £800m. Australian domestic equities under management tripled to £2bn over the 18 months to the end of June

That was a good prediction I gave!! Is it any wonder that I tend to stick to the smaller companies these days - I have one FTSE 350 company in my portfolio at the moment.

Just come across this thread during a trawl through today's posts. I used to trade this one especially during 2000 and 2001. I don't think I would be tempted if I had the cash to buy this now - safer to wait a while since it could be a falling knife. It does follow the DJIA pretty accurately and I feel there's more downside to come still. It's PE is 34 which does appear to be on the high side.

Views on this particular share pls, just how low can it go?? it was holding 410p-430p for quite some time, and now the general mkt is heading for its final decline, ie capitulation, SDR is at mutli yr lows. Thoughts please.

Almost half of the dividend comes from the profit, the rest is funded from reserves!

Schroders, Finals are out on Tuesday 4th. Schroders is expected to announce a big jump in pre-tax profits for 2002 but falling equity markets are likely to have forced the group into the red in the second half of the year. So the focus will be on if the group can turn things around quickly.

Lucky SDR - again !!! Because of the weakness of the market I think £1440m is enough for about position 108.

Well the 500p mentioned in Post 21 arrived a day early ! Heavens to Betsy ! Surely the posts of litul ol me are not being read by the controllers and then acted on to provide the maximum amount of exasperation for Joe Public ! What's this alleged bad news about to break on SDR ?
