"Starting to smell burnt and bleeding fingers from the recent upward spike" This has long been a very volatile share, often with relatively large intra-day swings. If you can't stand the heat, perhaps you should get out of the kitchen and find something more stable? I've done well trading this in the past, which is why I keep returning when my indicators suggest a worthwhile trading opportunity.

Agree in general Net, but unlike most of my stocks that have partially recovered since the collapse in early March, Scapa has has stayed in the doldrums.

Seems to have been ramped up over social distancing tapes A google search for "manufacturers of social distancing tapes" throws up uver 8 million hits!! Have to go to 2nd page for Scapa hit = https://www.scapaindustrial.com/ Seems to me to be very very many in this market - Hence above comment over "over hyped" Distancing tapes not their main market (cannot determine what % of t/o they accounted for and imo (e&oe) a very small part of their £311 Million revenue in 2019- So no big deal - However well done for using their expertise in selling into this new market - See link to their commercial site https://www.scapaindustrial.com/ Also very significant profit warning with the placing "The Group has modelled a significant downside scenario ("COVID-19 scenario") that reflects the on-going and potential disruption to its business. Scapa is expecting a period where revenues will be substantially impacted, particularly in Q1 FY 2021 and in early Q2 FY 2021, before returning to more normal levels, and in-line with management’s pre-COVID-19 budget, from Q3 FY 2021 onwards. As described above, the Company is undertaking a number of cost and cash preservation exercises and is adjusting working capital in-line with its revised revenue forecasts. Under the COVID-19 scenario, the Group is expecting to generate FY 2021 revenue of around £272 million, being approximately 80% of the previously budgeted revenues for the year, generating approximately half of the trading profit that was originally forecast in management’s FY 2021 pre-COVID-19 budget." https://www.scapa.com/News/SharePlacing Starting to smell burnt and bleeding fingers from the recent upward spike - Now how much further might it fall??

Woodhawk: Yes but if it was so obvious - everyone would have sold everything and all stocks would now be valued at ZERO. Clearly its NOT obvious and what is happening is more subtle than that. Its like a global dance with waves of sells and buys, with chaotic strands going counter clockwise. (I'm currently developing a stock picker program to find stocks to analysis (Java, MySql and yes selenium).... Scapa came up on my list... "The global dance" hangs round such things as the Dow Futures (slightly up today).. Dow responds to News items but one also tends to suggest there is a pattern behind it all.... A bit like working out the weather for a week but more complex. Dow Futures (and other other futures) are kind of based on what investors will pay for the underlying shares and they run 24 hours a day. So one could use technical analysis on the Dow Futures (I guess) 24 hours earlier to guess if yo should sell today or buy. Currently Dow says this is a buy morning.... but wouldn't it be great if you knew that at 4pm yesterday when some sold?????

Hardly surprising, there have been some very large gains generally over the past few days.

..only a bit... The entire Worlds shares are like a marionette - doing a dance to either an AI or a man somewhere in USA (or China) ... If only we could find the tune we'd all be millionaires...

Pre covid I looked up loads of sites and a consensus was around this: Should be 500p if no legal issues in USA (eg no fall in profits). Should be 250p with legal issues (taking into account fall in profits). currently 120p. This means that covid has cut the price in HALF. To my mind this probably is oversold by quite a way.

...The point is any interests in USA should protect the company from falling pound due to hard brext (eg rising Dollar might actually help them)... Also the other point is, with factories IN Europe that protects them from a hard brexit as they are INSIDE EU... They are ideally placed
