Thanks sportbilly1976, hopefully mallorca 9 and others will use these boards you suggest for proposing other share ideas. Can we now just stay focused on Scapa?

there's a few - have a scroll through the board listings - FXD (chart based), FAR9 (Melfaraj daily picks and more momentum based), UPS (share movers) for three probably of the better ones

Is there a thread on these boards where people can share their ideas of shares they think other people can investigate for investment ideas?

This is the Scapa board and I only want to read about Scapa as an investment and business. If I want people to throw ideas of other shares to investigate I'll go looking for it, I don't expect or want to see it here.

Sorry folks but I don't want this thread to derail to what some other threads on ADVFN have become.

I'm confident in this up to £3.

Check out Inland Homes though INL.

The October trading update will be spectacular.

Agree Devon....cheers to mallorca for the mention yesterday on the TCG thread.

Purpose of these is to highlight other stocks people are in/monitoring

the side bickering etc is a distraction....we're all here to make a few ££ at the end of the day

IMHO, when this breaks £2, there could be a sharp move upwards, chart looking like a cracker anyway.

Varies, the comment on Convatec results by Shares magazine today includes "Regarding the lawsuit filed by Scapa (SCPA:AIM), which claims damages of $83.8m in response to ConvaTec terminating a contract, management has been advised by its lawyers that the claim has no merit and therefore the company has not made a provision in its accounts."

Clearly both sides are entrenched in their view but I must admit it is unusual to make zero provision when a lawsuit has been filed against you.

There is a reference in today's P&L report from ConvaTec (under subsequent events) to SCPA's claim with the not unexpected rejection. Let us hope that the two parties can settle this soon.

Nice close. Will we convincingly break through 200p this week?

I had given you a little credit bringing my attention to SCPA Mallorca, but after seeing you talking on the TCG board, you come across as a moron. Filtered due to talking absolute trash constantly.

Yes, nice big gap above, as you say - I noted it some while back on this thread!

Huge gap in the chart between 215p and 270p, that needs to be filled. Taken a small position, close above 220p and then I will be filling my boots.

So, EVEN IF they lost all the revenue from ConvaTec they are STILL doing well due to their own out-performance. If ConvaTec settle out-of-court, which I imagine would be the most likely scenario - for a decent figure - then the share price will rocket. Which I assume is why the above article advises "the risk is skewed to the upside."

IMO in view of the otherwise excellent recent performance SCPA should merit an share price markedly higher than this multi-year low anyway. Could take off (again) any time, imo. As I've said before, I would imagine Buffetology will be increasing their own stake here.

(Sharecast News) - Analysts at Berenberg slashed their target price on diversified healthcare and industrial company Scapa on Tuesday, but said the group's "positive start" to the year should restore some investor confidence.
Berenberg cut its price target on the group from 520p to 300p but said that Scapa's first-quarter figures, released earlier in the day, showed that things were "not all doom and gloom" for the business, which revealed organic growth in both divisions.

The bank said Scapa's first-quarter trading update was "solid", with revenues increasing 34.6% on a continuing FX basis.

Berenberg noted that even when excluding Scapa's recent contract wins with ConvaTec and Systagenix, the group still delivered 3% organic growth in its industrial business and 4% in its healthcare division.

"In the context of the current share price fall, we think this is a good result," said the German bank. "With positive trading and Scapa clearly confident enough about its case versus CVT (it recently decided to pursue legal action), we feel that the risk is skewed to the upside."

However, Berenberg did opt to adjust its numbers to reflect lost ConvaTec revenues of £27m and underlying earnings of £13m, bringing it in line with consensus.

While Berenberg lowered its price target on the company, the analysts said they still believe in Scapa's long-term story and confidently reiterated their 'buy' rating on the stock.

As of 1310 BST, Scapa shares had picked up 1.45% to 168p.

Yes. I've been trading this share for about a year. I 'discovered' it via a webcast about the Buffetology fund's holdings. I also suggested it to Fizzypop - who has probably done as well as me from trading it since then.
