Its absolutely critical than Scancell test against the New P1 lineage from Manaus which i know for a fact they are doing after discussions with Scancell. It has the SA mutations and "others" as we have already seen the SA version does reduce efficacy of vaccines, its pretty clear that Scancell needs to be up to date on the variants as far as possible before we run into trial, That does not mean the Conserved area has changed so Scancell still has the double edged sword.

Example EU has learned something ... don't dither

if Scancell is armed with the Phase 1 blood work, we are in a very good position to get forward sales and support to run through clinical trials

so this couple of weeks is crucial to get it right Knowing that the EU will not get caught out again !!

Happy to report that the UK gave a total of 609,010 jabs yesterday (598389 first dose; 10,621 second dose)

TOTAL NOW STANDS AT 8,977,329 FOR FIRST DOSE.

So they appear to be on target for the 15m by mid-February.

Congratulations to all concerned.

Mind you, it's hardly a surprise, when you see the record of that cheeky multiparous cow to whom we gave safe harbour from the Baader Meinhof gang in the 70s.

Have seen a few comments about Cobra and the fact they're also one of the AZN/Oxford manufacturers. However, Scancell have a long standing relationship with Cobra - they were the manufacturers of SCIB1 way back in 2009 and guess this is the reason why they've agreed to partner on Covidity. Hope Scancell have booked their slot!

It's Manna from heaven for those of us who have been preaching about the bureaucratic non elected bullies that are EU commissioners. Their frustration will be taken out on the likes of Hungary now. The cult that are #FBPE should hang their heads in shame if they cannot see the hypocrisy in the bloc.

I may also add, that given the choice (which I am not) I would quite happily not wear a face mask in shops etc but being treated as a social misfit with leprosy is not something I find endearing

Certainly a better particulate filtration but does no negate the risk of cross contamination by hand to mouth. We are talking real life scenarios and in the world I work any contact with surfaces automatically mean a change of gloves (not practical in the real world) If people could cut out the adjusting of face mask and use a once use policy then the benefits may be seen tangible.

Intersting thoughts on mask, having over 20 years experience in RPE in either wearing in heavily contaminated areas or giving advice. I would say the benefits are very minimal to perhaps negative. For Joe Public the wearing of mask increases the hand to mouth routine by a minimum of 5X. Add to that the filtration of element of said mask are very poor, a bit like swatting a grain of salt with a tennis racket. Having said all that it's only benefit is to stop Spittal leaving the mouth when people talk etc. Do mask work? A glance at the figures suggest they don't although the strawman argument of cases would of been X amount larger if we didn't wear them will always exist. Btw for you fleece snood wearers you may want to ditch them, the amount of bacteria they are harbouring will shock you

All, the biggest Scientific Experiment carried out on masks a few months ago, stated they had negligible benefit. Fauci back in May stated they might make people feel better but do not provide any safety from the virus. What masks do though is deprive people of Oxygen, lead to hypoxia and weaken the immune system. I know why we don't we wear more than one mask as some idiots are suggesting. Why don't you all just hide behind your couches and let the rest of us go about our lives, since when was it up to Governments and the likes of you to do a risk assessment for Joe Public.

We could even mobilise the British Army to help over there, although sending the Black and Tans might be regarded as tactless.

Turkey fan appears to be invoking the view from the Man on the Clapham Omnibus. A deft and persuasive touch.

Other than that, the same tedious lament, repeated day after day, and which may be symptomatic of serious mental decay.

I think he may be a necrophiliac, which would be a different Western perversion than the ones that they are accustomed to in Thailand.

so you are still moaning at the NHS now ... Tf not compiling correctly when really it is better to use excess deaths over norm ..

"""" These figures are prominent daily in the minds of media and populace - the Govt. machine should have made MUCH more effort to explain and present these crucial figures in a meaningful way.""""

how ? daily briefings with experts present ... press can question, wall to wall Covid on TV ...

and people get confused ????? or just don't care anymore "fatigued"

and you have not answered ?

So your Cousin in Clapham is your eyes on the Ground ? so basically you are blaming the uk population for not following your advice or Gov Advice ?

Some interesting points in 'More or less' on BBC R4 last night, always a good listen IMO Daily UK deaths - 1st wave figures have been generally understated when comparing with 2nd wave figures - there's far more testing going on now, so more now come 'within the 28 days of a test' criteria of course.

Daily figures is not for deaths that day but deaths 'reported' on that day. The 1st wave peak of 1073 was on 8.4.20 but when you spread figures to day of death, that day was actually 1456 - so the peak of deaths was in the 1st wave.

The 2nd wave peak of 1820 (reported) on 20.1.21 was actually 1028 on the day - this may creep up a little as the analysis continues. So the 2nd wave peak is 1028+ compared to the 1st wave peak of 1456 . . .

These figures are prominent daily in the minds of media and populace - the Govt. machine should have made MUCH more effort to explain and present these crucial figures in a meaningful way.

12 months into a pandemic and Govt. can't even present that 'basic' correctly. But well done with the vaccines !

Perhaps next time you have surgery you insist that the surgeon and theatre staff DON'T wear masks.
