Very good to see Moz moving forward towards commercial mining. The current pilot plant must be giving the desired results for the three full 25 year mining permits having now been applied for. Should hear something within the next 6 months and more from both Oman and Portugal in the mean time. Our CEO seems quite chipper about the event, I guess for a world class project with Rio Tinto he has every right to be.

"David Archer, Savannah's Chief Executive Officer said "The submission of the Mining Lease applications is a key milestone and a great start to 2018. This is the final formal step in the process of securing long term Mining Leases over globally significant deposits of heavy mineral sands. This follows the commissioning of the pilot processing plant in Q4 2017 which will be used to produce concentrate as a part of the Pre-Feasibility Study which is currently underway.

"We believe our timing means we are well placed to take advantage of the increasing global demand for titanium feedstocks."

Regards,
Ed.

Mining Lease Application Submissions

The Applications (Figure 1 and Figure 2) have been submitted in the name of Mutamba Mineral Sands S.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Rio Tinto Limited. The Applications cover a total area of 417.32km². The Mutamba Project applications comprise of the Jangamo application (118.08km²), the Dongane / Ravene application (161.26km²) and the Chilubane application (137.98km²).

The Ministry has six months, from the date of submission, to respond to the Applications. Mining Leases are generally awarded for a term of 25 years and can be renewed at the end of their terms.

Savannah is the operator of the Mutamba Project with an existing 20% interest in a Consortium Agreement with Rio Tinto, which covers the projects. Savannah can increase its equity to 35% upon delivery of a pre-feasibility study which is currently underway and to 51% upon delivery of a feasibility study.

Thanks IB, looks bullish. Just want to make sure they don't take their eye off the bell in Oman and keep chasing up those permits.Really do think the lithium could be worth 200mm plus on its own.

Good articles Ged, and potential spanners indeed. That's the trouble with technology, it isn't always the front runners who win and the incentive for innovcative competitors is massive.

I said on here a week or so back, very important to get into production early, there's lots of lithium in the ground and there's lots of serious money to be thrown at it but the big players are canny, they know things can change, they also know if lithium stays favourite they can dig deep and accelerate productions much faster than the small caps, they can also take out small caps along the way.

I'm still happy here because I think DA knows the score and lithium's got to be good for several years whatever happens but definitely not to dilly dally.

I remember you reporting back after that presentation, paleje. It's good to hear such comments about the management.

I agree, Bronco. SAV's market cap is a third of BCN, so plenty of room for growth.

However, do we "have a spanner in the works"?

A very interesting article in yesterday's Times by Giles Whittell.

BCN are further along the value curve - have a feasibility study with real numbers and NPV, allows people to put a value on the asset properly.

We are not there yet, we should see a similar jump when that happens.

Happy New Year to all.

Yes IB,a really good break and now looking forward to what promises to be a transformational year. (again!)

Indeed Edgein, 3 quality assets. I've not seen Soulsauce's competition but SAV would be a good entry especially if Oman takes off on time.

Thanks for posting the latest SAV tweet, paleje. I thought it was interesting that BCN have 3 institutions on board. Probably explains their £140M market cap.

I am becoming more and more convinced that Portugal will be of strategic importance in the Lithium market. Spodumene being highly sought after and it looks like there'll be plenty of it.

I know we already know lithium will play a vital part in the electric cars market but the importance of getting into production early cannot be over-stressed, there is plenty of lithium in the ground, the early birds will clean up... or get taken out, I think DA is acutely aware of that.

Ged,

Good summary, lots to send these higher this year, not just the upcoming JORC for Res with its higher grades and wide intersects. The HMS project looks exceptional and I'd have chosen SAV in Soulsauce's O&G and miners to double in 2018 had I been around on time to get a vote in. Oman should keep us ticking over nicely as well as further results from Portugal until we get the licence and feasibility from Mutamba, partnering with Rio T gives an indication of the class of this project. Mid cap in the wings.

Regards,
Ed.

23.81% rise on the year. Let's see what next year brings.

News from Oman hopefully very soon with commencement of mining in the first half.
Licence for Mutamba
Further drilling and proving up Mina do Barroso. One thing I didn't misunderstand - this will be huge.

Let's not forget the management. A more than capable CEO and a CFO who is very professional and is proud of being extremely careful with the companies finances.

My highest riser last year was 355%. Let's hope it's SAV's turn next year.

OT Congratulations to Lord Gnome.

A happy and prosperous New Year to all.

Thanks Bronco.

I wouldn't take too much notice of the prices. ADVFN is showing 6 bid 5.5 offer. There's also some other strange pricing on my monitor.

Why after all these years of following the markets would I think closing times would be any different? 12.30 it was yesterday and I presume it will be 12:30 next Friday.

Whilst I'm confessing to a "Senior moment" and before they put me away I'd just like to go back to Nucleos and pegmatites.

Although it was explained to me just over a week ago I obviously misunderstood. Since nobody challenged what I was saying I presume others weren't too sure either. Hope this helps:-

“Nucleos”; are specifically defined areas in the Mina do Barroso mining concession area, whereas pegmatites are geological structural bodies that can host mineralisation and that may or may not be within these defined nucleos. The previous owner had identified the nucleos as the areas they wanted to mine first, we are looking for pegmatites throughout the entire concession area.

Definitely finished for the very long weekend now.

Have a good 'un.

BW! Yes a bizarre drop showing through ADVFN at the close, but not really substantiated by earlier trades. Looks a little manufactured but may then give a lower base for an apparent increase in the share price next week or after the NEw year. Lies, damned lies and stats springs to mind. Anyway at 12.31pm itWas all history.Good Christmas and may a strong following wind blow a gale in 2018.
