Surprised by some of the negative comment here.I think the CEO has done an outstanding job here since he took over two years ago.At that time the working capital situation was EXTREMELY critical. I think this has largely been addressed and the company grown at a steadier rate commensurate with their capital resource. Having attended the AGM a few months ago I was impressed by his demeanour and the air seemed to be one of quiet calm and confidence. In the current turmoil the next year or two will be no less challenging for the company(or any company!)....... however I think the importance of the Federal Tax Credit renewal for 8 years cannot be underestimated. As Mr McEwen stated today in the release, the US is expected to be the world's largest solar market. Despite the lower guidance, for SIT to be talking about profitability next year represents big progress IMO,and if they can ride out the general market storm I believe they could go places in years to come.

Cyberbub - this Co was always hopelessly undercapitalied (IMO) which was why I never bought in. Now with new capital almost impossible to raise, a takeover by someone with ready cash is as you suggest the only solution - but WHO has ready cash at the moment?

what a disaster - there will be a lot of burnt people here - I made some profits, then took a loss higher up but am glad I am out. I agree that their finances are not right but I think there is some value in the company, they have a good product and solid supply contracts etc, I think they might find themselves being taken over by someone who thinkns they can do better? I think the market suspects profit margin too slim here? ROM is a much better solar investment if you ask me

nearly there at 36p, lack of confidence in this company now and the cheap shares they keep issuing getting dumped. how long will the cash last for?

Interesting material on the solar companies. Shining a light on the solar sector http://www.equitydevelopment.co.uk/research/Solar-Energy/document/Shining-a-light-on-the-solar-sector/577 To date a niche market due to high costs Major future role as technologies approach grid-parity Incentives have dominated growth to date – short term uncertainties New low cost and high efficiency technologies progressing http://www.equitydevelopment.co.uk/research/Solar-Energy/document/Shining-a-light-on-the-solar-sector/577

OK I revise it to 35-40p As I said ROM is a much better solar stock. Profit making, and expanding.

So Asparks, now that you have stopped talking to yourself, perhaps your 20p by the end of the week is a little pessimistic!

US tax uncertainty removed... Senate Passes Energy Tax Bill Offering Solar Industry a Boost http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=az7nni6J4BZY&refer=us Sept. 23 (Bloomberg) -- The Senate passed a $17 billion energy tax measure that gives an unprecedented boost to the solar-power industry and extends tax credits for wind as well as for refineries that process heavy oil. ``It is the most significant legislation ever introduced in Congress for solar,'' said Rhone Resch, president of the Solar Energy Industries Association. ``It will provide a stable market for businesses to grow over the next 10 years.''

this will fall a long way. I would get out now while you can, and then depending on newsflow, get back in later in 2009 I am only considering investing in companies making a profit in the current market (such as ROM)

sorry holders but this is a SELL. If you want a solar company in profit, and rising share price check out ROM

I expect to see 20p again soon. If so, I'll buy back in, but not at current levels

if you read the first few headline numbers and statement it all sounds good .... then you get to the outlook ...... delayed profitabiolity until 2009, US order delays and worries about US legislation harming business going forward and a very sizeable downgrade in expected 2008 sales from $140m - $160m to $100m - $120. All very worrying really. Surprised the share price, even after the pullback, is not down further

think around $50m in sales so far, but as you say they haven't given much guidance or notices of any other contracts apart from a few large ones in europe + 1 in usa. last year they were giving news every 2 weeks! be very interesting to know the cash balance they have left because they have raised new money for working capital a lot of times before at a discount which is who i suspect has been selling the last few months

Well, results in just over a fortnight. I fear there haven't been enough recent contract wins to maintain their continued growth, but that may be a pessimistic view. I have no intention of selling but fear Sep 24th may not be a blue day. Any thought anyone? Anyone still out there?
