Ophir has recovered somewhat, salamander should be £1. This stinks big time. Hopefully cespa will come back again with £1.20

Remember this is an 'intention' to make offer and not a Firm offerCEPSA won't come back in to play until OPHR offer goes firm. This situation reminds me almost exactly of a takeover situation several years back - 4Imprint ( a recruitment firm). Nigel will rememberIn the end a 3rd party came in with a cash offer when bod of 4imprint were trying to sell their shareholders down the drain recommending a derisory paper offer from a rival.

Even the share ratio seems designed to take the pee out of shareholders.

Seems to be a few US firms on the smdr shareholders list, I wonder if they were sounded out first.

Simply directors trying to hang on to jobs for a few more years. Hoping Ophir will give one or two a board place. They know their incompetence running Smdr, esp on the exploration front, wont help any of them. Cynical self preservation motives. I expect CESPA or another bidder will come back, underlining further mgmts incompetence in being involved in running any public company. Imo

A bid of 110p cash from CEPSA will make this OPHR offer look silly

All very well Ophir doing due diligence on Salamander to satisfy them that what they are merging within as advertised, but there is no mention of Salamander having done due diligence on Ophir. In the case of an all share acquisition such as this the risk is the same for both parties, due diligence is as necessary for SMDR as it is for OPHR.

Probably backhanders involved, greenbacks oiling the wheels and cogs of the deal.

The equivalent would be 105p ( correction above) . Cespa were offering 120p. This totally stinks

I,d always prefer cash . Paper is ok but they need to do better than this.

Worth remembering.

OPHR were over £2 before the bid announcement which equates to a price not much less than £1.20 from CEPSA

Well OPHR have completed due diligence so nowt wrong with the assets. I hope CEPSA do go hostile. Our board are nuts I think.

Only reason I can think CEPSA won't come back immediately is the will let this take over happen and then buy the whole lot 12 months down the line

If OPHR is hugely undervalued then you can take your 121p + potential 45p and buy OPHR sharesYou would end up with more OPHR shares

OHPR is hugely undervalued so I like the deal and I suspect institutions will as well. Much better than getting 120p cash at the lows.
