Sagicor Financial Corporation Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Samantha Cheung to the post of Executive Vice President, Investor Relations.

As the Head of Investor Relations, she will be responsible for the leadership of the Group Investor Relations function through shareholder engagement and effective collaboration with finance, marketing, communications, legal, risk and lines of business leaders. She will be accountable for the development and execution of an investor relations strategy as it aligns with the Sagicor corporate mandate including the effective management of financial communications with various external stakeholders.

Ms. Cheung brings deep experience to this position having been the Head of Investor Relations at Intact Financial Corporation and Genworth Canada. She has almost two decades of experience in finance and capital markets across varied industries, with emphasis on insurance and financial services. Ms. Cheung also held senior level roles at CIBC World Markets in Debt Origination, Derivatives and Investment Banking. She originally trained as a chemical engineer, receiving her B.Sc.Eng. and M.Sc. Eng. from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and her MBA from the Rotman School of Management in Toronto, where currently she is also an ICD.D. candidate. Ms. Cheung was recently recognized as 2017 Diversity 50 recipient awarded by the Canadian Board Diversity Council. She is currently the Board Chair for the Oakville Youth Symphony Orchestra and a former Board Treasurer for both Women in Capital Markets and the Canadian Institute of Investor Relations.
