When a company rules out doing business with 75% of the population (by discriminating against the under 50's), there's only likely to be one outcome. All their rivals are happy to trade with all, the more the merrier. Why would any highly-paid executive be happy to put up barriers to success and prosperity (unless they are seriously lacking in business acumen). This is a flawed business model and now the chickens are coming home to roost.

Other Insurance companies will follow with their own longer period deals...it will be a lost cause...what happens if you change your car?...price hike?...facilitate a buy out...stop pretending they have this ideas and that ideas...

This falling in sympathy with TCG?...

and they have to make pre arranged set payments a number of times a year to pay for these 2 ships

this means they won't actually generate any net cash for a number of years

does that mean if you make a claim within that three year period they can't raise your premiums until you renew again in three years time ?

"Last year's gross profit for Cruise operations came in at £23M. A forecast now of £40M per ship - almost double previous - was this included in their new estimates for full year total profit of £105-£120M?"

Simple answer = Yes.

More complete answer = Indeed, that is as stated in the 4th April accounts release. Don't forget the first ship is only forecast revenue earning from July '19 and the second not until a year later. In the meantime insurance revenue is forecast down, debt will increase signficantly and there is still a huge amount of intangibles on the balance sheet (more of which should probably be written off).

Recently had a renewal for my motorhome insurance (£474 inc European breakdown), only £5 up on last year. Took out 3 year fixed for £490, can cancel at no cost when renewals come up. Happy bunny.
