Ref Mike Gallacher, award winner 2016 turning companies around, I wonder what price needs to be to redeem his grant of options over £3-4 I suspect!

I've actually decided to throw in the towel here. It was the £1m a month Q3 loss that did it for me. This was a really good company when I invested. Little did we know that the salesmen were all about to walk away with the non-board founder member. Its been carnage ever since. It might recover. It might go bust. Only have a small holding so its not worth the pain for me. Probably lost 50% after dividends. Was up 100% at one stage. Dismal.

Awful results. Looks like things have stabilised now though. I should have sold mine a long time before now, but I'm holding on. Always the promise of things improving, but you do tend to believe the point that they have now stabilised things with order intake improving. The new management team sounds well grounded and sensible in what they are saying. Its now or never though as they can't really afford another really bad quarter. They need a profitable Q4 and Q1 which is traditionally better from a seasonal perspective.

Shaker if you look at the last trading statement in July, Safestyle said that they expected the cash pile will have totally gone by the end of the year but they had put in place reserve borrowing facilities. The key words when talking about the impact on cash of the exceptional costs and loss of trading profits are 'offset by working capital management'. This is a lovely euphemism for saying they will take longer to pay their bills and will chase money owing a lot quicker. Also when a business declines the working capital requirement decreases naturally. With a new management team and the need to rebuild the sales teams in a competitive market you cannot run the business using new borrowing facilities, you need extra capital. Therefore I expect the Safestyle management to put together a good recovery story and get the backing from institutions for a fundraise of maybe £5-10 million. We'll find out soon enough with the interim results in 3 weeks time.

why do you think they need to fund a recovery??

Safestyle has now cleared the uncertainty caused by the outstanding litigation before its interim results and probable fundraising. You can only go on what is in and what is not mentioned in the RNS but this is my interpretation. NIAMAC have agreed by way of court undertakings not to do certain illegal things in the future and to promise to play nicely. NIAMAC have also agreed to rebrand and change the trading name from Safeglaze UK to something non-Safe - maybe National Windows for example. I think the name change is the only 'progress' that has been achieved by Safestyle as NIAMAC shouldn't be doing anything illegal in the first place. There is no statement regarding receiving a cash sum in compensation for damage suffered or legal costs and my guess is that Safestyle has paid a not insignificant sum to NIAMAC to make them stop using the Safeglaze name. It will never be revealed as it will all be lumped together and form an exceptional item for litigation costs in the forthcoming interim results. It's worth paying out as it brings about some degree of positive outcome from the substantial legal costs which now come to an end. The next step is to sweet talk the institutions into stumping up the cash in a placing to fund the recovery.

3 September 2018 Safestyle UK plc Settlement of Litigation Safestyle UK PLC ("Safestyle UK" or the "Company") today announces the settlement of its claims against NIAMAC Developments Ltd (trading as SafeGlaze UK) for alleged trade mark infringement, passing off, misuse of confidential information, malicious falsehood and various other matters.
