Keeping my eyes on this one, but I've just noted the CEO is an FCA. mmmmm!

I wouldn't base my decision to buy on the share price. I would want to see evidence that the business has started to recover rather than simply assuming a low share price means there's value in the stock.

Its about time they took action against Safeglaze shouldn't be working Safestyle's brand and customer book.

See my post #850. I contacted SFE re a quote but it went no further. Yesterday I got a cold call from from a guy at Safeglaze. He said that he used to work for SFE and knew that I had a project. Ergo staff are leaving SFE and taking all the contacts with them to Safeglaze!!!

Can I ask silly question which platform allows you to short safestyle shares? I'm with IF and they will not allow you to short them... Which makes we want to short them....

A little reminder of the benefits of keeping a close eye on Director selling was illustrated by the travails of Safestyle last week. Our recent Blog looks at large share selling by the Founders and Directors of several small companies over recent weeks and considers if this could be an indication of trouble ahead.

I agree, odd they didn't tell investors operations director and sales direct left... No transparency...

Thought about adding a few, but those recent CEO/CFO sells and no director purchases even at current levels are one of a few reasons to steer clear I suppose

Yes that's my take on it. I think it was overvalued at the highs and was baffled why it didn't fall further on the earlier profits warnings. I believe it is on a forward PE of c. 10 on the basis of revised broker forecasts, which I'd say is a modest valuation, but I suspect we'll see 'crisis valuation' at some stage. I've spent a lot of time as a "value investor" and in the past I would have probably jumped in at this point. More recently though, I've been working hard to correct my mistakes of getting in too early & too high and this seems to me to be a classic case. I cannot see any imminent news that will reverse the decline in sentiment. There could be a rally on the "it's fallen too far" sentiment, but I expect that will be short-lived and that downwards or maybe maybe sidewards movement will set back in. Of course I could easily be wrong, but if so I will only have lost out on a potential investment opportunity (of which there are many), if it goes as I expect and if I were invested I would lose real cash! Happy to give some more thoughts 'off board' if you want to PM me.

really?? after the savage drop on 'difficult trading' but no numbers, it looks heavily oversold to me, and much more upside than down.

I rarely filter or ignore anyone shaker, but I do agree that amongst some useful negative posts there does seem to be a fair bit of "noise". I am also highly suspicious of the high number of very recent positive ratings for safeglaze on Trustpilot (an ironic name given how easy it seems to game) it feels like there is a bit of a "campaign" going on here. All that said, I do think that Safestyle share price is more likely than not to go lower (maybe significantly so) over the next 'few' months. No advice intended, but I wouldn't want to be a holder at the moment as in the near term I think the risks outweigh the rewards.

fair to assume some posters carry a grudge against sfe. ex employees maybe? get over it. meantime ignore or filter. they add nothing useful or interesting

I certainly don't think that Safestyle is a good investment at the current time/price. However, to suggest that they are doomed is nonsense really, yes the double glazing market is cut throat, but it always has been. As you point out highasakite, there are local independents and any number of 'chains' in the market as well as the new entrant (safeglaze). Up till now Safestyle have achieved steady growth against this backdrop. Now they are facing the dual headwinds of 1. slowing consumer spending and 2. the 'aggressive' (which I read as loss-leading) competitor as well as the competition which has always been there. The slowdown in spending will pass and Safestyle I would say has bigger guns and deeper pockets if it comes down to price war with the new entrant. I can see profits continuing to be hit in the near term, but I can see no reason to assume that Safestyle will go under.

There won't be any upturn here. The market is cut throat. Sales/margins under huge pressure from competitors who are slashing prices. Safestyle are doomed. PS I had a quote from Safestyle a couple of weeks ago for a full set of new PVC windows and doors. On seeing this quote a local independent company said they could do the same job for 25% less ! They start next week.
