17/3/2016 08:04 | What a belter. There was me planning to potentially offload if the results were so so. Not anymore, serious growth still to come with how they are holding up. Special div is great news! | tintin82
17/3/2016 07:48 | Excellent results as usual:- Rev growth increasing yoy- A special divi (at last)- Plans to expand and double production capability by H1 2017- Market contracted by 6.6% but they grew market share by 9.5%DD | discodave4
17/3/2016 07:44 | So there is a special dividend. Of no particular interest to myself. I would prefer it to be used for further expansion or maybe a share buyback but only at times when the share price drops back. All I will do is use it to buy a few more shares! I have just realised what a good business this is to be in. We have had our own double glazing for around 12 years (now out of guarantee) and we find a few windows misting up and needing replacement. The person who came suggested 15 years is a reasonable expectation before renewal is required so great ongoing business prospects! | salchow
16/3/2016 21:04 | Good luck to you DiscoDave and tintin - hoping for a special divi or at least some guidance about they may do with the cashpile. | imranawan
16/3/2016 20:21 | Yeah, looking forward to it. SFE always perform, never nervous when they issue results. As you say Dave, the plans for the cash will be interesting. | tintin82
07/3/2016 09:19 | So, what's FX headwinds for a joinery/kitchen supplier who has depots in EU countries got to do with Safestyle?........sw | discodave4
07/3/2016 09:14 | HWDN - Average sales per account has declined 9% since 2010 and customers purchased 28% fewer cabinets per head on average. As a result the quality of Howden's sales has deteriorated in our view, putting margins under pressure. Excluding the £10m FX tailwind in 2015 margins would have been flat and we expect them to decline in CY16, as FX moves against the Group and OPEX increases. | discodave4
07/3/2016 08:13 | What's kitchens got to do with double glazing? | discodave4
07/3/2016 07:22 | HWDN starting to fall because average sales per account has declined 9% since 2010 and customers purchased 28% fewer cabinets per head on average. This next imho | opodio
07/3/2016 07:11 | Thanks guys. As a I said I topsliced a 1/3rd of my holding in SFE. I still have a decent chunk but just wanted to mitigate some of the risk. As they say no one ever went broke by banking a profit. | imranawan
06/3/2016 22:26 | ps tintinSFE has now become one of my largest holdings too...........but will never be "concerned" about the profit :), it makes a welcome change to selling at a loss!.GLDD | discodave4
06/3/2016 22:21 | Agree with both you chaps.Don't blame you imranawan, nothing wrong with taking profits.Do think Brexit won't impact SFE much, if at all, in the medium/longer term. Will wait for their year end results on the 17th, if they are just going to sit on all that cash then I will be seriously tempted to just sell up. Their Jan trading updates are usually spot in with their audited year end results so don't expect any surprises - apart from a decision on that cash - acquisition strategy, share buyback programme or special dividend.DD | discodave4
06/3/2016 21:21 | I do not think Brexit would have much of an impact on SFE, possibly in the short term, but at the end of the day life will continue and people will keep buying regardless of what happens. I have been spending quite a bit of time reassessing my price target on SFE. IMO we are at a fair value point (269p), however this does not take into consideration the continued excellent growth, purely from a snapshot perspective. IMO taking all into consideration I now have a price target in the region of 317-334. However as in the past as the trading updates and results come through, this target is always being pushed north. Two additional factors come into play though as you guys have already mentioned. 1/ What will they do with all that cash? 2/ Similar to imranawan, due to the great run my SFE holding is becoming rather bloated in relation to my other holdings which is becoming a concern. While a temptation to sell an bag the great profits, I would kick myself for selling a great company for no good reason. The more the push into Southern England the greater this story will become. | tintin82
06/3/2016 20:29 | Not sure how Brexit will affect Safestyle - don't think they should really be affected. I trimmed a 1/3rd of my Safestyle holding as it reached my target price of £2.85 last Wednesday. Still like the stock, but am trying to be disciplined and Safestyle was the largest holding in my portfolio at over 10%, and was trying to reduce risk. | imranawan
05/3/2016 16:06 | Anybody any thoughts on how a Brexit may impact SFE?The only thing I can think is where do they source their raw material (PVCu) from?.Just thinking about possibly realigning my PF in readiness as who knows which way it will go in June.DD | discodave4
05/3/2016 01:25 | Keep pushing to new highs is good enough for me. Every pull back meet with a surge to new high. | tintin82
04/3/2016 19:48 | Strange week, bid closed 267.25 Mon, hit its 52w high Wed, and bid closed today as per Monday.GLDD | discodave4
01/3/2016 19:16 | Nice to see it hitting new highs. Agree tintin SFE has been the best performing share in my p/folio. I agree Discodave, I'd like to see them return cash to s/holders if they don't have a use for this. SHOE returned the excess cash they didn't require and stated a hurdle whereby, if net cash was greater than this threshold they would pay special divis. Looking forward to the upcoming results. | imranawan
01/3/2016 18:32 | Same here tintin.New 52w high and has some momentum.Do hope they state their intentions in the prelims of what they are going to do with their cash pile, need to do something.DD | discodave4
01/3/2016 16:33 | Stunning, what a performance over the past weeks. Quality shining through. Thought we might struggle around 275 but certainly smashed through. SFE is definitely the saviour of my portfolio this past year. | tintin82
25/2/2016 13:41 | High volume buys today.......prelims 17th March.DD | discodave4
25/1/2016 07:13 | Agree, very good results, just a bit disappointed that they aren't doing anything with the cash.DD | discodave4
25/1/2016 07:05 | Brill, nice growing cash pile. Impressive growth in a contracting market. | tintin82
24/1/2016 16:38 | The share price action has been masked with the wider climate last week. Although the breakout was highly encouraging, the sell off was concerning. SFE always seem to deliver, especially with the push into S England. Lets hope tomorrow is a belter, and a bit of a better week for all than last. | tintin82 |
