Wonder what Norwegian airline figures going to be like, they have eighteen 737 Max planes, ouch.

Would not touch with a 20 foot barge pole. IAG the only one who made money.

I added a few at 10.33, but lower would not surprise me.

The max's fuel burn is significantly better (15-20% compared to NG), but I expect Boeing will stump up for the difference, and more. As for the marketing value, I'm sure the average punter couldn't care less what they fly, and history shows the traveling public have short memories or little interest in a type's past incidents when they buy tickets. So far as I'm aware, capacity is not significantly affected for this season, (and meanwhile, TUI, Norwegian etc are affected).

Longer term the Max situation is relevant, as RYA saw delivery of this aircraft as a competitive differentiator re other airlines.

I thought there would be another FY guidance downgrade, which has not happened.

Getting clobbered due to TUIs 737max headache, even though Ryanair doesn't have them yet, with so far, very limited operational and profit impact from the issue. Load factors have been very good in the last few months. Looking forward to results and I've topped up just now at €10.30 (silly price - list time we were at €10, Ryanair was mired in Europe-wide industrial action - unrest has largely died away with new local employment contracts for many of the crew)

but easyjet is also down 3% and I don't believe they use the 737 Max - why are both airlines down hTTp://www.cityam.com/277052/budget-airlines-ryanair-and-wizz-air-report-soaring

Spob, yes, the point being he appeared to see this as a big win re competition. They were going to be configured to RYA seating specifications. From memory something like 15% more fuel efficient, plus other benefits. So they were looking at the Max as providing a significant competitive edge over the next number of years.

i think that was before he knew about the current situation i dont think you would hear him saying that today anyway none of the kamikaze max have been delivered to ryanair so far

Michael has referred to it as the .. game changer, multiple times, the uncertainty is unhelpful to the share price A US hedge fund initiated a short position in RYA recently. FY announcement soon. I was expecting another full year guidance cut but has not happened.

maybe ryanair will cancel its 737 Max orders regardless of any fix, that plane is tainted now and customers will avoid it, if they possibly can or possibly avoid airlines known to use it

Production also cut on the Max. In terms of that aircraft re RYA, it's a longer term factor. Brexit is what's dominating short term, followed by European overcapacity/seat prices and the oil price at a 5 month high. There looks to be a new short position initiated last week on RYA.

Monty, another guidance reduction from RYA would not surprise me, so would be a little careful here atm. If Brexit comes to some resolution, then around the 15 level, should be achievable, unless wider equity market turn down.

It's going to make about 1 Billion Euro on pre tax. Brexit is dominating everything re sentiment towards RYA atm.
