I don't mind it going down, but expect less than ftse! Maybe discount to nav has opened up.

Interesting to see on 1 year chart the high frequency volalility is less than the ftse, it's just that the low frequency (overall trend) is the same-ish. They seem to be getting something wrong.

I wonder how much input Jonathan Ruffer has these days since he went part time.

I am starting to agree. This seems to be increasing volatility, not reducing it. I'd have been better off without it!

These people must be held to account at the next meeting. The stock should be going up at times like this otherwise what's the point of holding the shares. They are a lose lose.

Terrible performance here. This is supposed to be one of my defensive, low correlation holdings but over 1 yr it's down about the same as FTSE (12.5%).

I think my average is about 199p (including dividends)so not good but certainly not a disaster. Not sure what the share price movement correlates to. Japanese equities? Interest rates? Or are we keeping the champagne and oyster bars alive in The City of London?

The latest monthly report is here:

... and yes, they do have some exposure to Japanese Banks. However, only 15% of the trust was in Japanese equities as of January.

They don't do discount control. Strengthening Yen has probably helped them recently.

I was thinking the same, with pnl/cgt performing well. More expensive TER here too...

The value of this trust was Jonathan. It's now back where it was 2011. The musings of Jonathan were the musings of a very high calibre man. I would be back in like a shot if he returned. Hope the trust starts to deliver for holders.

have to say, i used to put the kettle on and enjoy reading Jonathan's monthly musings. now it is a bland description of ex post events- the young lad needs to develop a bit of flair like the old boy. the trust however does look cheap imo fwiw.

Performance both relative and actual and even versus fund objectives..... Nothing looks good does it, or am I missing the point?
