Rough balance of sales and purchase thru' today : 500,000 vs. 600,000. Then, as the market closes two big sales of 793,000 and 89,000.

What is going on?

Phil Oakley, much respected analyst from Sharepad/Sharescope today issued a thoughtful article on RPC concentrating particularly on its acquisitions and the extent of exceptional items in its accounts.

Credit Suisse today reaffirms its outperform investment rating on RPC Group PLC [LON:RPC] and raised its price target to 1180p (from 1175p).

Plastic's bad rep isn't a new thing. I agree, the world needs an alternative, but until that day comes, plastic will always be in demand.

Sure it's a good company, but plastics pollution is proving more & more dangerous, which includes all the multiple layers of excessive packing.
Whales washed up dead because of a bellyfull of plastic is not good press for the sector.

Pity about the company, but the planet can't go on absorbing what they make.

Agreed - the irony was all the analysts were talking about CAGR, gross margins etc. which whilst important it took me as a professional private investor to talk about the elephant in the room which has since drove the price!

That may be the intention, but the market can change its mind by de-rating
the equity multiple making further share issuance more challenging.

It's not just the BOD who get to decide.

Needs to sort the cash generation out, the market seems to always hate that even if you're a growth company. On the proposed Capex which is even higher than last year I can't see this changing. The CEO is too acquisition hungry, I asked whether the rate of acquisitions was too high on a conference call and the response was basically no plans to change.

Prokartace - indeed! But I think a lot of the fall from the last couple of days is down to general uneasiness in the markets. I can easily see RPC getting back to the 900p level over the medium term, so will look to top up once we see a reversal.

PS shouldnt a low oilprice be a massive positive for a company like RPC ?
