12/10/2017 15:56 | Yep good news. Back around the table now. 7 weeks i think before they can call another strike, then 2 weeks notice. With most of the xmas mail sorted by then, all the wind taken out of cwu sail. | encarter

11/10/2017 09:26 | exotic Moya Green is merely a non ecec director of Easyjet. These are cushy part time positions, sometimes entailing as little as one day per month. Some CEO's have several no exec positions, as do retired executives. Equivalent to a day off school. Her real job is with RMG. | careful
11/10/2017 08:44 | Whoooshhh. Price is recovering quickly now. Off topic slightly. The union have said that RM plan to break the company up. Their Parcel Force division is already run seperately from the rest of the business and would be easily severed and sold off. With someone like EBay being an ideal buyer and resulting in a massive bonus for shareholders. | encarter
10/10/2017 19:29 | Injunction heard thursday morning. RM should win it then it back around the table to thrash out a deal. | encarter
10/10/2017 15:19 | If you think Moya Greene really has a difficult situation, then that's even less reason to reduce her commitment to 50% when she went off and joined the board of EasyJet on September 1st. Same goes for RMG director Matthew Lester joining Barclays PLC on the same date. If the union wants to strike over pay vs. workload ratio going in an inferior direction to that of directors then the union will have my support 100%. It seems to me those cats who make it to the top just cream off even more for doing even less. They have no genuine concern for the company as they soon move onto the next one, and the mess they left it in will be someone else's problem. | exotic
10/10/2017 10:50 | Moya Green seems competent. She has a difficult situation. A former state owned company with 1970's style unions. A rapidly changing industry at that. | careful
10/10/2017 10:47 | Well managed ?????? | europa79
10/10/2017 09:32 | It doesnt matter how the company is managed. Its agreed with the regulator that RM makes between 5% -10% profit. Its the regulators job to keep profits within that range by ajusting the rules. Last years profits were at the lower end of that. | encarter
09/10/2017 21:37 | Big 'if' there... | zorija
09/10/2017 21:32 | That is good news. Common sense could win out. Lots of potential with RMG if well managed. | careful
09/10/2017 21:06 | Talks now planned between RM and CWU. Hopefully they can reach a deal. | encarter
09/10/2017 09:20 | Yes its looking like the strike wont happen now at least until after christmas, by which time they should have reached an agreement. | encarter
09/10/2017 08:55 | seem to recall that the Thatcher strike reform laws were used in the past. If judge orders the strike as being illegal it must be called off. When they fail to do so, Union funds used to be frozen by the banks. Then the highly paid union leaders start suffer and the unions could even go bust. This would effect the union employees pensions including the fat cats. In the end they will have to stick to agreed proceedure. | careful
08/10/2017 11:37 | I guess if they went on illegal strike then they could sack the workers for breach of contract or offer them a new contract of their choice? | ccraig69
07/10/2017 10:35 | Looks like Royal Mail are finally starting to play hardball with the CWU: | bartram
07/10/2017 01:31 | Ok well £10.50 ain't all that. I appreciate my postie but they still need to be competitive with other providers. There are no if's or buts. 'Bloody hard work'? Compared to what? Kazakh copper mine? NHS nurse? Traffic Warden? Kebab shop employee? Minicab driver? No sorry, disagree not bloody hard. Boring yes. | racg |
