03/10/2017 19:43 | I wont be jumping in at £3.50. Profits are on a knife edge so a strike over christmas could drag the share price much lower imho. | encarter
03/10/2017 18:54 | The NHS is unsustainable, all the political parties realise it, even Labour, but it's very useful as a political football. Nasty Tories Utd v Cuddly Socialists Albion. | oiht
03/10/2017 18:35 | That first line was me being sarcastic, with an element of realism. | europa79
03/10/2017 18:33 | NHS will be privatised next. Tories doing their best to make it a reality! Cuts are now being made on emergency call-outs using motorbikes in some areas apparently. This, being the most effective way for a paramedic to get to a traffic accident scene before the ambulance and thus save lives. | europa79
03/10/2017 18:29 | Should of remained public sector in my view. Possibly a good chance to get in under 350 ? | europa79
03/10/2017 17:53 | Public sector mentality in a non public sector company. Takes time for the workplace culture to catch up. | oiht
03/10/2017 17:41 | It will be interesting what the share price reaction is at start of trading tomorrow morning! | crystball
03/10/2017 17:36 | That releases management from their commitments as outlined in the bosses letter to the workforce during the negotiations, lets hope as shareholders that management now drive forward with some radical thinking that has been absent up till now. | hernando2
03/10/2017 16:47 | Massive 89.1% yes vote. CWU dont need to fund the strike. | encarter
03/10/2017 16:37 | Strike announced | eisler
03/10/2017 15:50 | CWU fund is £14.5m in the red, cannot fund a long strike :-) | scamper
03/10/2017 08:12 | It would seem that way but you never know for sure. RMG will probably make an announcement 7am tomorro. Then they could be in for a long painful strike or they could cave in to union demands which will also hit profits. | encarter
03/10/2017 08:07 | So people think this will tank today | mj19
03/10/2017 08:03 | And Vince Cable will come up with some other privatisation googledyghook!... | diku
03/10/2017 07:51 | MJ19 the result of the strike ballot is out. Announcement from CWU at 4.30pm but result will leak earlier. | encarter
02/10/2017 22:44 | Encarter why do you say that | mj19
02/10/2017 08:52 | Yump - fair points raised albeit globally nationalised industries have never shown a good track record - hence why countries such as China etc have embraced capitalism That said the privatisation of the railways et al in the UK has hardly been a model of success !!! | joe say
02/10/2017 08:30 | Big day 2moro. | encarter
01/10/2017 21:01 | Hi yump, Royal Mail currently operates in an environment where it can grow. It is expanding in Europe, the USA and even has growth prospects in China. Can you really imagine a nationalised RMG would be encouraged to expand abroad if it was under political control. More likely RMG's growth prospects would be stifled which in an age of globalisation would be bad for our economy long term. In a post Brexit environment this country will depend on our trade with the world. Renationalisation would only harm that. Goldpig | goldpiguk
30/9/2017 12:55 | Lol. Take your point, but there were mistakes I made that I'm not likely to repeat :-) | oiht
29/9/2017 19:14 | The only thing man learns from history is that man doesn't learn from history | ignoble
29/9/2017 11:35 | It never ceases to amaze me, despite a long track record of nationalised industries across the world losing money hand over fist and only kept in existence by tax payer subsidies, how some people still think nationalisation is the way forward. I can only only assume they are comparatively young and didn't experience the seventies and early eighties. "Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it." - George Santayana, | oiht |
