27/08/2019 | 8:26 Regulatory News: Total (Paris: FP) (LSE: TTA) (NYSE: TOT) and Qatar Petroleum strengthened their international partnership by signing several agreements allowing Qatar Petroleum to acquire part of Total's interests in its mining sector in Namibia, Guyana and in Kenya. At the close of these transactions, which remain subject to the approval of the competent authorities, Qatar Petroleum will become Total's partner in each of the following countries: Namibia Total will transfer to Qatar Petroleum a 30% interest in Block 2913B and retain a 40% interest. Total will also hand over 28.33% to Qatar Petroleum in block 2912 and hold 37.78%. These two blocks are located in deep waters, in the Orange basin off Namibia. A first exploration well is planned for next year on Block 2913B. guyana Qatar Petroleum will own 40% of the company holding Total's existing holdings in the Orinduik (25%) and Kanuku (25%) blocks, with Total holding 60% of that company. These licenses are located in the prolific Guyana Offshore Pool and are adjacent to the Stabroek Block. Following the discovery of Jethro on the Orinduik permit this month, a second exploration well (Joe-1) is currently underway on this block. It will be followed by a third (Carapa-1) later in the year on the Kanuku permit. Kenya Total will, together with ENI, transfer a combined 25% interest in blocks L11A, L11B and L12 to Qatar Petroleum, reducing its own ownership interest from 45% to 33.75%. These three licenses are located in deep waters off Kenya, and an exploration well is planned for Block L11B in 2020. "After making our first discovery together, and the opening of a new gas province on the Brulpadda prospect in South Africa, these agreements constitute a new step in the privileged partnership between Total and Qatar Petroleum," said Arnaud Breuillac , General Manager Exploration-Production of Total. "As a long-term partner in a country where we have developed a historical presence, we are pleased to be able to continue to support Qatar Petroleum's international development through our collaboration, as we have done in the past. . " In 2013, Qatar Petroleum became a shareholder of Total E & P Congo, holding 15% of its capital. In 2018, Total sold a 25% stake in the 11B / 12B license it operates in South Africa, on which the Brulpadda discovery took place recently.
